Castle d'Escale is an amazing place to enjoy a vacation and explore the local areas. Right outside Girona a great place to explore for a day or two. And near the Dali museum, Monastery Montserrat, Costa Brava, the Pyrenees , and the French border. The castle itself dates back to the 11th century and is very comfortable (wish I could show you more pics. Just over an hour from Barcelona. If you are any where near a wonderful area to check out.
