"Parking was crowded. We were welcomed into the lobby by a huge group of drunkards with liquor out on the tables, and we were half greeted by the hotel desk staff."

"When I checkef in I was told they overbooked double beds and if i wouldn't mind getting a single bed with a couch bed. When I opened the couch bed, it was dirty and so was the mattress. After I called and complained, I was given a room with a double bed. "

"I had an exceptional experience while staying at The Amaya. World recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the greater Fort Wayne area. Friendly & accommodating staff made sure all of my needs were met, and I felt so welcomed by the elevated check-in ecperience. The hotel is fully renovated, with lovely modern features and tasteful decorations. The bed was a dream, with a real comforter and large comfy pillows. The room is equipped with modern and higher tech features, all of which contributed to my stay. I love that there is no carpeting throughout, giving an aura of cleanliness and everything truly was. 10/10 would recommend the Amaya to friends and family, and I will be a repeat customer in the future. Also note - ample parking in a secure lot is a relief when traveling alone too."

"The space was very clean and beautifully remodeled...lots of thoughtful details were included. My overall rating was just "OK" because of what is perhaps a misunderstanding on my part for the use of the word "guest house", Guest houses, to me, are separate dwelling behind a main home but perhaps to others and when filtering by "whole house", what we stayed in was unexpected. The description does describe "apartment' but the additional use of "guest house" and the filtering, as well as the subtitle, led to an expectation other than what we found. When choosing VRBO, I expected an entire house and that is actually what the subtitle says. This is a duplex that, although it doesn't technically have shared space, it does have two adjoining doors, one of which had no notable lock from "our side" which felt a bit insecure and tainted the stay. Additionally, the doors did not block sound from the adjoining living space and TV, talking, coughing and a dog were heard throughout our stay. Hearing others distracted a lot from the anticipated "entire house" of the listing. We stayed because we were only there for a short time but if it were a longer stay or if I were alone, I would have tried to find something else. The smart lock was very temperamental. All that said, if you know what you are getting and are fine with that, this is a beautiful home in a nice neighborhood and the hosts have provided multiple touches to add to a comfortable stay. The library is amazing! "

"Breakfast was the same 3 days in a row. Oatmeal was cool and very lumpy. The fruit was all mushy. We did not use the pool. Frayed carpets, blinking lights "

"House was very clean and smelled great. Nice little tucked away neighborhoodI do wish it was stated somewhere that this is a partitioned off house and you have a couple rooms. We have a 9 month old and he was up all night and probably kept the host awake as well. We would not have booked had we known, out of respect. Sorry Preston! "
