Hotel Le Colline

"The facilities are well maintained. The beds are comfortable and the setting in the Tuscan countryside is wonderful. Very peaceful and serine. The pool is clean and refreshing. The location is perfect, being just far enough away from the daily crowds in the town of San Gimignano, but close enough to visit before 10 AM and after dusk. The included daily breakfast was a perfect start to our day! Lots of fresh fruit, juice, yogurts, granolas, breads and cold cuts. And, of course, the espresso machine! The property is family owned and operated (they live on-site) and are there to see that your every need is attended to. The on-site restaurant is also family owned and operated, with a nice variety of entrees at reasonable prices. A good wine selection, too! The only cons are: - The parking is problematic (as it is everywhere in Italy) with limited spaces on property and an 'overflow' area in a vineyard across the highway. - The A/C is controlled by the management... So they decide if it is available, which, in our case, it was not, and that made for some uncomfortable nights as the only fresh air to the room was via the balcony doors which are unscreened."

"This place is at the center of everything, that being said, to get there is a hike! We parked outside the city walls and walked to the hotel, since we spent only one night we only carried a backpack and we left everything in the car. Dragging a suitcase it’s not a smart move. The hotel Is beautiful and we got a room with a wonderful view. Bed was comfortable and everything spotless. We really enjoyed the convenience of being able to go in and out to the center as we needed a break from walking. Super recommended!"

"I highly recommend avoiding this hotel. While the balcony offers a stunning view, it’s larger than the room itself, which is so cramped that it’s impossible to open a suitcase without feeling claustrophobic. The bed was incredibly hard—like sleeping on a rock—resulting in back pain and headaches that made it nearly impossible to get a good night’s sleep. Overall, the experience was disappointing and not worth the price. Save your money and find a more comfortable place to stay! Breakfast was ok."

"Super emplacement! Très beau et charmant!! Bien situé, facilement accessible en voiture et près des stationnements du village de San Gimignano! Le personnel de l'hôtel nous ont fait de bonnes recommandations et nous ont même donné en temps réel le nombre de places de stationnement au village!! Confortable et chaleureux! Le restaurant de l'hôtel est excellent aussi! Belle piscine et environnement incroyable pour le déjeuner également! Bref, nous avons eu un bon moment de détente. Nous recommandons fortement!!"

"The property is very nice . My room was ok , nice view , spacious bathroom except the shower . The lights switchers are confusing but understandable because is an old European style . Breakfast is very good . A lot choices and was included in the price . Staff is great always try to help you . Location is good , just 600 mts from San Gimignano main entrance . You don’t need a car to go close to inside the walls . Parking is difficult in the area but you will find a spot away from the hotel .! I will recommend this property is you like to be close to the area !"

"If you need a place to detox from the city, 100% choose to stay at this peaceful, beautiful location. The room had a bed and breakfast vibe with the ability to open the window for some fresh air. There was both personal patio areas and public patio areas to lounge in the sun or shade. It was too cool yet to try their pool but it looked beautiful. The most important factor of this stay was meeting the family owners who serve as trained chef, reception, meal service and everything in between. Genuinely the kindest, sweetest, fun people we got to interact with for our stay. The food was AMAZING at their restaurant! The sous vida saffron pork ribs were to die for. The morning breakfast buffet had a large selection of hot, pastry and fresh fruit. We only tried their farm brand white Vernaccia wine at our stay but it was so smooth and crisp - you’ll want at least a bottle to take home or they’ll ship 6 for you. Of all the whites we tried while in Tuscany, this was our favorite. Finally, the view. You will feel rest, peace and renewal gazing out at every spot from the house. Green everywhere, birds chirping and cooing, places to read or write. As you make your way down to the sculpture garden area, you see a perfect view of San Gimignano on the hillside in the distance. Come back at night to capture it all lit up. We weren’t real sure about trying this agriturismo but so glad we booked this! If you drive no problems. Getting a taxi to town or elsewhere is not easy. "

"Fantastic stay at the Fattoria San Donato. The property is located in the midst of nature, very easy to reach, with lots of parking. Staff is super friendly and welcoming, the wine is delicious, apartments are big, very clean and very practical, the food (we only had breakfast) is very nice, and there are many activities offered to spend the time (we unfortunately didn’t have a chance to do them as we only booked an overnight trip). Highly recommended and would definitely come back to the Fattoria. Thank you once again for the very warm welcome and experience!"
