"We stayed at Villa Romo for 10 days. The perfect place to get away and appreciate a slower pace and Spanish way of life. Carl & Maria were attentive throughout. Only snag was getting to the house on day one, as we were driving from Toledo. Managed to find the house before dark; a plus! The home is quite remote and it took us about 30 minutes to get there from the small town of Rio Gordo. (My advice is to buy groceries before you arrive.) The reviews that I had previously read about the villa before we got there stated that a car was needed due to the location of the villa - this is true, we ended up having to get 3 taxi's every time we left the villa as there is nothing in walking distance, not even a local shop for essentials....

"Just spent 10 days at this villa and had a great time. We couldn’t have asked for more with everything we needed being there. The little touches including the basics you need without having to shop on arrival (including a massive bag of fresh oranges) were gratefully received. However that comes with a couple of kilometre drive along a hilly country road which is in part unmade. If hiring a car, something to consider.
