I had a great stay at Hotel OR Opitours in Bocagrande, Cartagena. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and always accommodating whenever I needed assistance. The amenities were good and made the stay comfortable, but what truly made this hotel stand out was the location. Everything you could possibly need was nearby — a 24-hour pharmacy, 24-hour supermarket, plenty of restaurants, and the beach was only about a 10-minute walk away. The convenience of having everything so close made the experience even better. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Cartagena and looking for a comfortable stay in a great location.

The Hotel OR is a great option to stay because tourists will be taken care of in a good way and tourists will have that piece of mind to go walk around the amazing places that the beautiful Cartagena has.

It is in the area of the city you want to be in near the waterfront (but not right on the beach). The price is good. The rooms are ok, but nothing spectacular, but i don't need spectacular in a room. I just need to "sleep"

The staff were all super friendly and nice! I could leave my room key with them as I went out each day, my room was large and very clean. The pool was smaller than the pictures indicated but there were chairs around it to relax. Lots of restaurants within walking distance and most tours would pick up from it as well.

Ok hotel - in walking distance from the beach

The hotel is nice + in walking distance to a nice beach. The breakfast was understaffed, as there was only one lady working there. It therefor took a while to get served.

Me and two of my colleagues stayed in this particular hotel although it was a last-minute decision however we made it work. We stayed in Cartagena once before. And we had an amazing time all the trip did get canceled because of the war however we ended up back at Cartagena the people that worked at this hotel was amazing A1 I must say . One of my colleagues decided to pay a little bit extra to get a better room however he had no refrigerator no hot water. The bed was as hard as rocks in the same with my room. The bed was extremely hard. The AC did not work I complained twice they never fixed it. The water was not hot and asked for my other colleague same thing with his bed as well extremely hard. The pool was decent. If you ask me what I stay in this place I would say no knowing these conditions, the overpriced everything they up charges for the breakfast for extra cheese. Imagine that we don’t mind paying for extra but when it’s not listed, we have issues with that, however overall the place is not a good place to stay so if you guys are seeking to go to this country it’s an amazing country that people are really nice. Do not choose this hotel. It’ll be the worst mistake you ever paid for.

Ac and shower was great after a long week in the islands . Staff very nice . They sent out my laundry great price . Pool was a nice addition. Only reason not 5 stars is because elevator was broke and carrying luggage to floor 3 was hot and hard. Location is great food and fun and beach right there

A hotel itself is pretty basic the breakfast very basic. The staff on the other hand were very accommodating very nice. They upgraded my room because the first room they put me in was very small and smelled terribly. I could recommend this hotel if you’re just looking for basic accommodation and not luxury it is a good value and it’s conveniently located next to everything.

Disappointing, Misleading, and Poorly Managed. I booked Hotel OR through Expedia during a trip to Colombia and my experience was extremely disappointing. Due to a medical emergency caused by an attempted robbery in Medellín that resulted in a serious knee injury, I was forced to change my travel dates. I contacted Expedia immediately and asked only that my hotel stay be moved to match my revised flights, not refunded, and was open to reasonable fees. The hotel was extremely difficult to reach and when contact was finally made, management refused any flexibility. I was charged for a four-day stay I physically could not attend and ultimately ended up paying for the same hotel twice in good faith, assuming the second booking would be refunded. It was not. When I arrived in person to resolve the issue, the manager was cold, dismissive, and unhelpful, making no effort to acknowledge the situation. The condition of the hotel was also poor, with visible mold that appeared to have been painted over rather than properly addressed, raising concerns about cleanliness and health standards. Between the lack of empathy, rigid policies, and substandard conditions, this stay fell far below expectations. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone expecting professionalism or basic customer care.

Nice street view from balcony (but I think only two apartments with balcony so maybe I got lucky). Breakfast is purposely cooked for you and good quality, so not unlimited buffet. Central, lots to do nearby, near restaurants, transport, beach, gym, shops. Cooler and fridge in room was surprisingly good. Secure building because no visitors allowed and reception very small. Very noisy area nearly all night/morning, no blackout blinds, no “do not disturb/clean” tag for door, none of the staff speak basic level of English. Overall, you get what you pay for (so don’t compare to Hilton or Caribe down the road) and if you don’t mind the night noise and speak a little Spanish then a good choice for travelling on a budget and I would return but most probably bring something to temporarily blackout windows.

Despite this, the hotel refused any flexibility and charged me for a four-day stay I physically could not attend. In good faith, I rebooked the hotel for my new dates and ended up paying twice. When I arrived and attempted to resolve this in person, management was cold, dismissive, and denied any communication from Expedia. The room conditions were unacceptable. The first room shown was dirty and clearly not what I paid for. The second room did not match the advertised photos. There was visible mold on walls and under the air conditioner, bugs in the room, no hot water, a broken TV, a non-functioning safe, and no refrigerator despite being listed. Bedding consisted of only a sheet and small throw. Amenities were also misleading. The advertised “full breakfast” does not exist; there is no buffet and basic items cost extra. The rooftop breakfast area appeared unhygienic. The pool was cloudy, dirty, and unusable, and there is no hot tub despite listings suggesting otherwise. This property is poorly maintained, misleadingly advertised, and managed with little regard for guests. I would not recommend it.

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities, property conditions & facilities
This place isn’t for tourists !!! As i came in. Big sign on elevator not working. I changed room due to bad smell. In the other room air conditioning wasn’t working so at 2am i was offered a room at the 4th floor no elevator. Now good luck moving your staff. Next day i asked a free night they refused and willing to give only half price on another night. Thanks to orbitz that saved me from that place. No hot water !!! What ?? They said in few days they’ll fix that…. Yea right like the elevator. Poor bedding. Internet disconnect all the time. Breakfast is a joke. Horrible. You wait 20 min until they talk to you. Antz all over tables. Not safe. At night only 1 worker at reception that can get easily to your room. The woman asked me not to write bad review but im sorry. I have to warn other ppl not to trap into this place. STAY AWAY as you can. Cheers.
