The owner communicated well with us, and her cabin was wonderful. I highly recommend it for a relaxing family stay.
Cabin was comfortable and well equipped with everything one would need to stay for a few days. All appliances were in like-new condition. The cabin is conveniently located and sleeps 5-6 people in private bedrooms, with overflow in the loft beds. We are 6 of us and we had plenty of linen and towels to spare after our 3-day stay.
Our hosts were very responsive, and our stay was lovely. The L-shaped deck with dining table (and umbrella) is a treat, and the newish bathrooms are wonderful. The location--somewhere between Kings Beach and Tahoe City--is terrific, and Carnelian Bay has its own charms as well.
The location of the property was perfect. We walked to the lake to see the sunrise, drove to Palisades, a nearby hike in the snow, stopped at Northstar on our way to the house. House was very clean and exactly what was described. Fit our family perfectly! Thank you!
Great location and close to the local dog beach. A good in between spot in Tahoe if you plan to explore north lake and south lake. Cabin has great sleeping arrangements
Rented the cabin for a weekend with my small swimming team and it was the perfect fit. Plenty of towels and hot water, kitchen items, and comfy beds for us to crash after a long day in the water. Very clean and well-organized and communicated. We'll definitely be back!
We loved the layout and space of this cabin! Awesome location in Carnelian woods but also near rocky Patton Beach. The fireplace was cozy and wonderful for our unexpectedly rainy Labor Day weekend.
Pictures do not do justice to how beautiful this cabin is. We had a very relaxing Christmas get-away with family. We loved the short walk to the beach and location overall was great. I would highly recommend.
Our second time staying at the cabin! It was so nice to be back. It’s cozy and warm, the best fireplace, great location, and great communication with the owner!
We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was well equipped with lots of condiments and things we might have forgotten so cooking was easy. It was close to sledding and the store. The kids really enjoyed playing in the snow in the yard.
What a perfect place to stay for our family ski trip! The cabin was well-equipped with all the amenities we needed, and the location is great, only a 5-minute drive to the grocery store and within 30 minutes to NorthStar. The cabin is very cozy and clean; Cate is super easy to communicate with. We will definitely come back again!
Beautiful home for a relaxing weekend in the snow, less than 30 min to Northstar, clean and comfortable, the cabin has many modern updates but maintains a charming rustic feel, great fireplace, spacious kitchen and living area, Cate was easy to communicate with and very responsive
We had a lovely stay in Carnelian Bay. We loved the location and proximity to Tahoe City, King's Beach, Truckee, ski resorts, and restaurants. The cabin is cozy and a great home base for us. The fridge was immaculate and there are enough cooking supplies to make full meals. Our kids loved playing in the yard in the snow. Cate was super responsive. A good first time staying in Tahoe!
We were 4 sisters, 1 daughter and 1 niece. The cabin in the woods was very comfortable and quite homey. The bed on the sunny deck was a real treat. The only complaint would have to be the dim lighting throughout. More or brighter lighting in the bathrooms and especially over the big table when playing games would’ve made our stay perfect!
We were happy with this rental. It was a great location for everything we wanted to do in the Tahoe area. My only complaint was there was no AC, but it did not say AC on the listing. (We’re from Phoenix where AC is assumed!) We really appreciated the stand alone fans in each of the rooms! We made several meals and had everything we needed. Very clean. We also appreciated extras like laundry soap, dryer sheets, extra paper towels, etc. Thank you for a lovely vacation home!
We recently stayed at the Cate's cabin in Carnelian Bay and had an incredible experience. The cabin was spacious and comfortably accommodated our group of 7, making it the perfect choice for our weekend ski getaway. The cabin was well equipped with all the amenities we needed, from a fully-stocked kitchen (including a bottle of wine for our group to enjoy!) to cozy living areas perfect for group gatherings. The wi-fi in the house was strong for those in our group working remote. Communication with Cate was easy and seamless. Overall we would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a group getaway in Tahoe!
This is the most adorable cabin! Cate has updated this cabin in such a cool way! We loved all the decor. Beds and pillows are super comfy. The kitchen has everything you need and more! Awesome new appliances. The fireplace is so great and plenty of wood to use. There are strings of lights that are on a timer and add such a festive touch. We absolutely loved the large windows, making the house feel open and light. Don’t hesitate to book this sweet cabin-you’ll love it! We will definitely go back!
This was the best place we have stayed at by far in Tahoe. Kate takes good care of it. We stayed during the winter for a week. It was the most cleanest VRVO rental I've ever had. Close drive to town. Kate's place has a unique style to it. She really went above and beyond! The pictures don't do justice on how amazing it is inside. So much detail and beautiful custom decor! She had it stocked well with basic kitchen essentials. Only thing that was missing was a potato masher but we were able to get by. I loved the stove, fireplace, cute staircase, the boat inside the living room, etc.. Excellent communication with the owner. We had so much fun and made good memories. Will definitely be back!
Cabin was very nice and homey. Not huge but didn't feel cramped. The beds were comfortable (including the one on the deck!) and the cabin's location is convenient for a short walk down to the (few) businesses in Carnelian Bay. This was our first VRBO and Cate was great about communicating the process to us. Highly recommended.
If you're looking for a clean, classic, cozy cabin, this is it. Feels like you're staying at a friend's cabin that's been in the family for years.
It looks better in person than the photos depict - always a nice surprise. Beds were very comfortable (just watch your head on the A-frame beams in the master - ouch!). Liked the different options for sleeping arrangements. Table was large, there was ample seating in the living area for everyone to relax, and the open floorplan made it easy to converse. Bathrooms were clean, yet notably dated, and a little sparse on the paper products. Nice appliances in the kitchen and a huge washer & dryer made cooking and doing laundry a breeze each day. Our kids laughed every time the washer or dryer "sang" its happy completion tune. Cookware was a bit tired and several items need to be replaced, however there were many options to choose from in the well-stocked kitchen.
When we arrived, there was a problem with the door and we couldn't get in - a couple of calls with the nice owners and we had secured alternative access.
Location was great - central to drive to all locations on the north side of the lake. We rafted the Truckee in Tahoe City, ate ice cream at Log Cabin and mini golfed in King's Beach, and spent a couple full days at Sand Harbor in Incline. We didn't walk from the cabin to the lake as it was too far to go with our stuff and also try to cross the busy street. Closest beach is at Gar Woods restaurant and is all rocks, no sand. Boats are anchored around the pier. Restaurant has good food, drinks, atmosphere, and views, with typical high Tahoe prices, of course. A mini golf is also located nearby. Safeway is just a short drive away.
Be sure to bring your own beach chairs and umbrellas! We found one chair outside but ended up having to buy "cheap" $35 chairs at Safeway for the remainder of us.
Enjoy beautiful Lake Tahoe!
