"Overall, we had a good stay and would give the resort 4 stars. They offer free breakfast and free wifi. Alex was our main point of contact and was extremely helpful, kind, and welcoming. Everyone we encountered was very friendly and always greeted us with a “hola” or “buenos días.”
The food tasted good, but the menu was simpler than I expected, with options like burritos and quesadillas. I was hoping for a little more variety or local-style food.
Our room was decent and had a queen-size bed along with a pull-out couch. The AC worked well, and we had hot water in the shower, which we appreciated. One thing to be aware of is that there are workers upstairs above the room. We were told about this during our arrival tour, so it wasn’t a surprise. They do stop working at a reasonable hour (around 9:30/10 p.m.), but they start around 7 a.m., so if you’re someone who likes to sleep in (or go to bed early), the noise may wake you.
We also saw three roaches in the bathroom at night during our stay. Being on a tropical island, I wasn’t completely surprised, but it’s worth mentioning for travelers who may not be prepared for that.
Unfortunately, it rained a lot and we got sick and spent 2 of our 3 days in bed, so we didn’t get to enjoy the activities offered. The beach is conveniently located directly across the street and the water was very nice.
Overall, we still had a positive experience and would recommend for couples/adults. Also, bring cash to avoid 3% CC fee."
"Caracol was rustic but magical. The staff was lovely and it’s so peaceful surrounded by water. Being able to step off my private dock and swim was a delight, and I spent lots of time in my hammock. The restaurant was tasty and the staff was helpful for arranging boat transfers if you wanted to go places."
"Captain Jeremy and Kate were absolutely amazing. Not only did they provide anything and everything in the listing but they were constantly offering suggestions and stories about so many more options. The food was spectacular. Every single meal was delivered with love and care. They provided so much food that there was no chance anyone would go hungry, and it was so delicious it was difficult to not get seconds. My daughter loved Kate and we couldn’t have asked for someone more kind and kid friendly. Captain Jeremy basically taught our boys to fish and ensured such a success that all three kids somehow pulled in a stingray. That was such a memorable experience for all of us. We traveled to starfish beach, dolphin bay and even snagged a few moments at red frog beach. All were spectacular and worth a visit. We paddle boarded, snorkels and swam every chance we could. Even though we visited during the rainy season we would come back during any season. We were able to play games, watch movies, and overall just enjoy the views, conversations and beautiful catamaran. Our only regret is not getting to do the karaoke our last night. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience, especially one that could handle my wife and I, 3 kids (18-8) and my 71 year old Mother."
"We had an amazing adventure at the Hummingbird this past week. The atmosphere was breathtaking and surreal. Literally being in the jungle brought so many lovely sights and sounds- although it was a little noisy at night which some may not like. The food and drinks were outstanding as well and reasonably priced. The staff- Olivia, Aaron, Jeremy, Luis and others treated us like family. The pool was clean as was our room. The beach is gorgeous and quiet. Great beach to walk in solitude for miles. Waves are big this time of year so don’t expect to swim too much. Great little bars and restaurants along Bluff beach as well. The weather was a little rainy this time of year but that meant it was quieter in the area. If you want a quiet escape- this is the perfect place. We hope we are lucky enough to return one day!"
