"The views are stunning and the Villa is charming and stocked with everything you need to be self sufficient. The hosts are warm and friendly and made the trip extra special for all of us. Monica made us mind blowingly good dinners several nights, and be forewarned, there will be so much food that you will have enough to feed you lunch and breakfast the next day. Everything is organic and extremely locally sourced, and she makes all of her own cheeses from her flock of sheep and goats. Giovanni's safari of the remote Italian villages in the area, far from the tourist crowds, was a big highlight of the trip. Grazie mille to all of the residents of Villa Lean, including the dogs and BeBeee."

"Our extended family of 22, including an infant and two toddlers, stayed in this beautiful, well appointed villa in the hills above Lucca during the Christmas holiday. The villa was perfect for multiple couples / families as there were clusters of rooms with a common area located throughout the two story villa which allowed for privacy. Every room had its own bathroom as well. The home and rooms were beautifully decorated. The views and grounds were spectacular. The host and owner were extremely responsive to our questions and needs throughout our stay. The lovely historic town of Lucca was a short drive away. There were markets, restaurants and wineries near the villa as well. The indoor pool and sauna were well used by our group. The host provided many recommendations including a cooking class by Tamara done at the villa — it was a great experience for the group! Also I highly recommend the wine tour and lunch at a nearby local organic winery and olive oil farm at Frattoria Colle Verde. I highly recommend this Villa."

Breathtakingly beautiful views, extremely well appointed accommodations, and the most gracious hosts we encountered in all of our travels. "The stay was excellent and a great retreat for our family! Mario’s communication & hospitality was excellent & the villa was very clean & even more beautiful than the photos. We had 4 generations of family and everyone enjoyed the experience. We meant to do more sightseeing, but frankly everyone wanted more time just being together as a family. The views were amazing & both the pool & hot tub were enjoyed. The family even enjoyed a competition of ping pong. One of everyone’s highlights was when local Chefs came & cooked an unbelievable 3 course dinner with appetizers & deserts - we highly recommend. We are very thankful to Mario for sharing their place so we could build many happy family memories."

"The owner, Giacomo, was the friendliest and most helpful host. He welcomed us at the beginning, left us with a detailed itinerary for the area and beyond. The pool was cleaned by him midweek, and he was there on hand by WhatsApp with answers to our Q's. The villa is lovely and cool which is very welcome in the heat. It is quite basic but yet has everything you need. Kitchen has a dishwasher, microwave grill combo and a stove, no oven. Two showers with one being a wetroom. The beds are comfy in each of the 3 bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms have AC (room with two single beds did not). One thing we weren't prepared for are the old plug sockets in the villa. Only our older travel adaptors fitted. Not one single new travel adaptor did (we were able to use these on the modern adaptors on the microwave and kettle plugs). The pool is large and clean. The garden is full of olive trees as well as the area all around the villa. The views from the top bedroom is amazing. Great location for Lucca, Pisa, La Spezia, and Florence. Highly recommend!"
