"The casa rural is beautiful. Both its setting and the building proper. It’s a rather easy & straightforward access from A-63 (6-7 minutes). And within 30 minutes of OVD airport and the beach. Toñi is the best hostess! She is warm and insightful. Everything is pretty new and spotless. The bed was comfortable and there are sufficient kitchen cooking & cleaning supplies. The one thing to forewarn business travelers: the WiFi does not extend upstairs (where 4 of the 6 units are). This requires you to go to the communal area to use WiFi, which was fine, but it’s not conducive to catching up on emails right before you go to bed. Lastly, Toñi also makes and sells marmalade. In a word: delicious! They make for a great take home presents. I enjoyed my stay at Casa Josefa very much."

"Amazing place at the top of a very rural and quiet village. Stunning place to experience the 2026 solar eclipse!! We loved our stay and Mari was very hospitable, answering my many questions quickly and thoroughly. The home is comfortable and has good working WiFi and a washing machine. The community is friendly and helpful though not many people were around when we were there.A few things I wish I had known well in advance:1) It’s very important to bring a car that can handle narrow streets and steep inclines. It’s a tough area to drive in and we avoided going up and down as much as possible. 2) There are some very loud and aggressive dogs in the village, so watch after your children if traveling as a family. We only saw 5 other people in the Villa while we were there, you can plan to have a lot of solo time (and if anything were to go wrong you’d be on your own).3) There are no grocery stores nearby so plan ahead and bring food from Oviedo or Leon, or you’ll go hungry!! manolo’s at Paramo at the base of the mountain has an excellent restaurant where you can eat like royalty for 22 euros or less, though!4) Check for road closures…we got stuck in the village for a while because the road north was closed during the day. Plan well in advance!"

"Beautiful property. Grounds & rooms aesthetically pleasing. Pool was nice & drinks were delicious. Not the most practical place - small kitchen with no dish cloth, pots/pans, dish soap. The property’s restaurant is closed Monday - Wednesday and there aren’t a lot of options for dining. We went to the grocery store since we couldn’t find a restaurant nearby w/availability until 9:30. You are limited with what you can prepare due to the lack of equipment. Just keep this in mind. Sofa cover dirty and needed to be washed, food residue from prior guests on table when we arrived."
