"Villa Poggio Scalette was truly a dream place to stay on our vacation. The pictures cannot do this beautiful home justice - you have to see it for yourself!! The view, the amazing property, the Tuscan touches in the decorating with all the modern amenities - we already cannot wait to go back!!! We slept so comfortably and had everything we needed at the house for some relaxing afternoons and evenings enjoying wine, good food, and the view :) Our host Simone was very communicative and so helpful...

"The villa was a beautiful home to send our our time in Tuscany, Italy. We enjoyed having our own bedrooms and baths. We had a special meal cooked by a local chef, Rachel. The kitchen worked well for the cooking, and for our breakfasts. The scenery was just breathtaking, and it is just as pictures in books looked like. We very much enjoyed our stay."

"We spent our last week of our 3 weeks in Italy in Marila’s home and are so happy we did! The location was fantastic, the home was perfect for us and Marilia was a warm and gracious host. We asked her to help with booking a chef to come in to teach a class, a wine tour and restaurant suggestions and all were fantastic. We would love to go back again!!"

"Fantastic Villa with lots of space Overall we had a great stay in this villa and would return. It was clean and description matched well. Everything was in working condition. The Owner was friendly and helpful. Car is essential but there are restaurants in 10min radius. Other places are easily reachable in 60min drive to explore. (For Florence we recommend train from Altopascio) The only slightly negative point was the electricy&gas bill at the end. Make sure you have enough cash left."

"The setting for this home was amazing, in the hills north of Florence. Communication with Louisa, the owner was good. They live just up the hill and were friendly and helpful - they also know owners of the local pizzeria in town. Pool water was too cool to swim. Outdoor seating area was a great place to wind down at the end of the day and enjoy a couple of bottles of Chianti from around the area. WiFi could have been better, but worked. "This villa is exactly how it looks in the pictures except for the view...because pictures can not do it justice. The entire stay was fantastic and exceeded our expectations. The property is full of character and as with the beautiful grounds you can spend quality time with family and friendsjust have time with yourself enjoying the scenery. Just book!

"After thorough and extensive research on where to stay, me and my fiancé decided to stay at Hotel Calimala and it was absolutely perfect. I've heard horror stories of people being catfished by hotels (in Italy in general) but it was exactly, if not better, what I expected. The service and hospitality was top-notch from the jump. They welcome with you a glass of Prosecco at the main bar and a staff member will personally walk you to your room and explain everything. Location couldn't have been better. We were at the epicenter of everything so it was easy to navigate around the city. We adored the rooftop as it provided spectacular views and plenty of seating with great ambiance. They had an event going on one night we were there, and the line was out the door. On our last day, we asked for a slightly later checkout and they easily accommodated. Not only that, we had a later flight, they held our luggage while we roamed around. Our stuff was fine, and staff again, were so attentive. All this to say, this hotel was featured for a reason. Just book! "
