"Very comfortable hotel with amazing ocean views, clean, nice beds, excellent service. Breakfast was great, plenty of food to choose from. Decor is modern and fits very nicely with wilderness of Madeira. Strongly recommend for high quality hotel."

"Lovely hotel, location, food, and drinks. Also very clean and very friendly staff. The only thing we didn't like was the lighting, as the lights in the bedrooms were quite dark, so maybe upgrading the light bulbs would be nice. I definitely recommend this hotel."

"Just WOW!The property is everything the description says, with endless reviews to back it all up! Beautiful rooms and layout. Lovely big (heated) pool. Plus the truly stunning view across the Atlantic that glows like a painting with each sunset.Communication was excellent throughout, with lots of useful information available at the villa. The welcome basket of treats was very useful before we got some shopping in.A car (with Sat Nav) is a must. The driveway is very steep and takes a bit of getting used to ... as do the equally steep surrounding roads. But it is worth it. A few nice nearby cafes, a lovely fusion restaurant (Melton's Kitchen) and a very useful mini supermarket (an Amanhecer shop - 9370-702) a short drive away that has everything you need.All-in-all, a perfect break away from the rat race ... and one that we will be returning to in a couple of years for sure!"

"Nice apartment but a bit tired. Bathroom had smell of damp Beds very comfortable Half board meals good Slight tendency to nickel and dime. Like 20 cents for packet of sugar or coffee in the room."

"What an amazing stay!!!! We loved staying at this very special place. From the warm welcome- the perfect size place, fantastic walks, the gorgeous countryside and views and the ease to go anywhere on the island- Casa Caramelo Rustic House was perfect!!!! We have had the most amazing experience here!!!! The Host ( Irina) is truly the best!!!! She was so helpful, kind and just a lovely person. We fell in love with her 2 beautiful , incredibly trained and super sweet dogs!! What a bonus to get a visit from them!!!. We loved this stay so much!! We will be back many , many more times!!!!"

"while the weather was beyond anyone’s control, I had such a cozy stay and was perfect for the R&R that I needed. The grounds, the room and the entire property was so delightful though there were other guests. I don’t think I saw even one! It was truly so lovely in the rooms. I think everyone was cozied up by their fires during the rainy evenings. I really loved the grocery store, though the prices are a bit higher than in store, you’re paying for the convenience of all your necessities being right there and I thought that was really nice. Plus your room already comes with plenty of eggs, cheese and bacon for breakfast cereals, granola and yogurt as well as milk and juice so there’s not really much else to grab unless you are going to make a nice dinner. I truly loved all of the kitties, despite I’m allergic, they were adorable, kept to themselves, and we’re awfully cuddly when I was leaving (They are also vaccinated so there’s no worries.) on top of that there are chickens, ducks, and sheep on the property and I hope to come back when the weather is better to enjoy that beautiful pool, the vegetation, and the beautiful views! thank you again for such a wonderful stay and apologies again for setting off the fire alarm! 😂 i’ve got to get used to using those cast-iron stoves! "We had a truly wonderful stay at Nelson’s house in Calheta. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed. The house has such a cozy and inviting atmosphere, it immediately felt like a home away from home.One of the highlights for us was the beautiful garden & ocean view. It’s clearly cared for with love, and it creates such a peaceful setting to relax and enjoy the surroundings. The view from the property is absolutely stunning, and spending time outside, whether in the morning or at sunset, was a real pleasure.The house itself was very comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. It suited us perfectly and provided a great base to unwind and enjoy the area.As mentioned in the description, it is a cliff house, so you walk down to reach it. Parking is available on the side of the road, and there are steps leading to the house. For us, the steps were completely manageable, but it may not be suitable for someone with mobility difficulties.Overall, we really enjoyed the house, the garden, and the incredible view. It was the perfect place for what we needed, and we would happily stay again."
