  • Let me preface these discoveries by saying that I ended up in Calella haphazardly. It is not necessarily a town that I would generally recommend. It is not your traditional Spanish/Catalan dream destination. It very much looks like something the 70's spit out and no one ever bothered to clean up. With that said, I freaking love this little freakish town, which I quickly & affectionately nicknamed "The Twilight Zone." The strangest occurrences happened throughout the month, yes MONTH, I lived in Calella. Apparently since the 70's, Calella, was a booming tourist destination for Western Europeans and the British. It has been on a massive decline over the past decade. What's left behind though are some fun Dutch and English/Irish pubs, a small welcoming expat community, and one of the most incredible beaches you will ever lay your eyes on. Beautiful clean white sand for miles and crystal clear turquoise water. Parties & bars on the beach, some free concerts in the summer time and of course drinking it allowed as well. If you happen to find yourself here, you must stop in at Beach Boys Club, tell the owners, Brian & Cathy, that Amber sent you. Then hit up Brian for his secret stash of American imported Budweiser (Did you know the bottled stuff is always produced in country? Brian believes the secrets in the water, so he gets the cans from the US. Brian is British, which makes this little story even better.) Also, be prepared to eat a lot of rotisserie chicken.

A crapy favelas...nothing more....

Night staff should drink less alcohol and be more friendly to tourists and more aware about ongoing reservations.....Never had such a treatment in my entire life.... Otherwise if you have never been into a crapy favelas but always wanted to be, you should definitively try this hotel. We have seen hotel staff fighting violently with clients EVERY DAY we were there and police or security staff at the end were called. there is only 1 elevator (4 people max) for 6 floors and forget about the wi-fi, it doesn't work.... never again !!!!

Very dated decor. Needs updating badly. Beds uncomfortable, bedding rough too. Food was fine although plenty moaned about it. No entertainment unless you class brawling 'Hens' and 'stags' as such. As it's a cheap all inclusive don't expect too much, most of the people are fine but you get a good few who just want to get drunk, starting at 10.30am. I wouldn't recommend this Hotel for the elderly or those with small children unless they can cope with the constant latenight (frequently going on til 4am!)noise. I'll not be back

I liked the location. What i didn't like was the the poor/dangerous standard of the room. The food was passable at times,poor at other times. The walls in the room are paper thin,which results in getting any sleep difficult, especially when the hotel drunks are out of control.

Near beach but poor views

I believed that the hotel rooms had air conditioning but ours did not. Room was at back facing into a residential block. No view but people's washing. T v in the room did not work and wasn't repaired until three days after it was reported. Hotel food was basic but food often ran out even just after meals began.

Ble møtt av en sur resepsjonist ved ankomst sent på kvelden. Han skulle ha et spesielt rek.nummer som vi ikke hadde. Rommet var veldig varmt og var uten vifte eller aircondition. Ute temperatur ca 30 grader. Innetemperatur var varmere. Det var en del russere og engelskmenn på hotellet som IKKE hadde lære å oppføre seg. Vil ikke anbefale dette hotellet til andre som vil ha en bekymringsløs ferie. Callella som feriested kan på det varmeste anbefales.

Réceptionniste de nuit très désagréable, et qui invente une histoire (mon frère qui aurait danser derrière une fille de 12 ans) c’est très grave de faire de telle accusation surtout quand elles sont fausses!!!! Ensuite on nous accuse d’avoir fait du bruit et mis la musique forte... très bizarre sachant qu’on avait aucun équipement pour écouter de la musique, et qu’on était dans notre chambre entre 19h30/20h (douche préparation) et 01h/08h (dodo)... chambre SANS clim et sans frigo. Alors que d’autres client pour le même prix avaient les deux... le seul point positif : la piscine, avec le bar. Quel plaisir après une journée de chaleur de boire un verre autour de la (belle et grande) piscine. Nous ne reviendrons pas l’année prochaine !!!

Hotelli siisti ja todella hyvällä sijainnilla rantaan nähden. Kummallista oli, että vastaanotto tivasi printattua varausta heidän lähettämästään sähköpostista, jota ei ollut koska varaus tehty Hotels.comin kautta. Yritin näyttää heille omasta sähköpostistani varausvahvistuksen, mutta langaton internetyhteys oli heikko eikä toiminut. Hotelli on nuorten suosima, erityisesti saksalaiset nuoret juhlivat ja riehuivat yöllä, mm. hakkasivat asukkaiden ovia. Tosin hotellin henkilökunta reagoi tilanteeseen heti seuraavana aamuna ja poistivat pahimmat häiriön aiheuittajat.

Typical but nothing special.

Central located, close to Calella beach but the building needs to renovate the soonest. There is still place to improve regarding breakfast and dinner. Another option that they owners have to take seriously into account is that during the night the safety/security lights in the corridors are not enough, to see properly. Overall is a typical tourist venue, but not something special.

Ciao, L'hotel in questione non è male, a noi ci è stata affidata una camera da letto molto ampia con due porte finestre, il che è andato a soperire il problema che la maggior parte delle stanze non ha il climatizzatore, la cucine in se non è male, nota dolente è che, essendo che abbiamo una bambina piccola, lei voleva molte volte la pasta, peccato che fosse insapore e per lo più strapiena di origano! La piscina non molto grande, e soprattutto il fattore che non venisse mai pulita. Molto comodo invece la zona in cui si trova l'hotel. In generale la valutazione che do è nella media.

je regrette de l'avoir choisi

j'ai pris une chambre pour 3 personnes avec pension complète. La 1 ère chambre qu on nous a attribués pendant la 1ère semaine avait une salle de bain en très mauvais état (plafond qui fuie), la 2 eme chambre très petite, salle de bien en très mauvais état également, les murs sont très fin, donc nuisances sonores a toutes heures, surtout la nuit, pas possible de dormir, restaurant pas top, je n y retournerais jamais, point positif : proche de la mer, et de toute commodite, loin d'être un hôtel 3etoiles, le personnel est sympathique, l'hôtel est mal entretenu, le wifi est rare !!!!

Good location, easy walk into town

We like Calella very much and would return. The hotel staff were helpful, especially the head receptionist who spoke many languages fluently, including English. Our room was dirty, the floor was gritty and I'm sure there were bedbugs as we have bites all over us. A huge bogey on the wall was there when we arrived and still there when we left. Disgusting. The litter outside our room in the communal space between the rooms was horrible too. A shame as it could be a very nice place to stay.

Отдыхали здесь не первый раз,к сожалению с каждым разом всё хуже.Окончательно распрощаться с Террамаром мешает невысокая цена и привычка)).Отель реально старенький,разваливается на глазах,пара работников чинила что-то каждый день.Номер достался с подтекающим унитазом,но с работающим феном (в прошлом году было наоборот)).Пару дней не было горячей воды,на пару дней заселяли какую-то дикоорущую молодежь.Бассейн местный нам всегда нравился,хотя моют его не часто и в этом году не работал гидромассаж(прикольная штука)).Ресепшн,да и сервис вообще - ненавязчивый(совсем,абсолютно)),но круглосуточный и на вопросы отвечает на любых языках кроме русского)).Для объективности надо отметить и положительные стороны:в столовой поставили новые кофемашины и в отеле теперь новый лифт(говорящий))(для меня вообще как издевательство:я кофе не пью и номер был на первом этаже)) Одно бесспорное преимущество у отеля-близость к морю,буквально-рукой подать,пляж-отличный!!! Ну в общем,есть отели получше(но и подороже)),а для непритязательных и здесь можно прожить 10-12 дней

Nosotros acudimos por una prueba deportiva y la verdad la localización fue perfecta, el personal muy agradable,las habitaciones reformadas y limpias pero el buffet malísimo, la comida escasa y de mala calidad tanto desayuno como cena, siempre ponen lo mismo , la comida caliente de un dia al siguiente es fria en forma de ensalada añadiendo lechuga, pésimo buffet

hotel bruyant ,salle , tres vieux, beaucoup beaucoup de jeunes , pas plus de 16ans une vrai colonie . impossible de dormir . quand au buffet affreux toujours la meme chose. le point fort de l hotel et vraiment la piscine . voila pas plus ca ne le vaux pas , pour un 3 etoiles il vaux meme pas une etoile .
