The drive back the lane made it feel away from the world but it was still only a couple miles from the quaint town of Franklin WV. Coffee on the front porch and sleeping to the sound of running creek water was a highlight! "

"Rest Assured cabin in Big Bear Resort was absolutely perfect! We love to mountain bike and the Chris Cowley trail was exactly 1 mile from the cabin. This magnificent trail ended on Camp 70 Road where many of the famous Davis trails start including Hoodoo and Moon Rocks. When we were not out mountain biking, we were enjoying many amenities of the resort including the recently renovated pool and 9 holes of mini golf. The staff at the resort were friendly and helpful. The cabin itself was very comfortable and had everything we needed to make our stay top notch. This is a pet friendly cabin and our 2 dogs enjoyed many walks on the trail around the resort and they enjoyed finding a sunny spot on the porch to rest in the great setting. The host of the property is attentive and communicative. There was not one negative thing about our 5 day stay! We made great memories and truly hope to return again!"

"The Barracks are nestled on Dry Fork Road centrally located within a 30-50 minute drive to Seneca Rocks, Dolly Sods and Blackwater Falls to name a few. The mountain roads are narrow and winding, with incredible views around every curve. The cabin itself has everything a single traveler up to a larger group (family) could possibly need. Although we did not travel with our dog this time, the cabin is pet friendly. Sherry and Okey are inviting and kind- we had the opportunity to chat with them about the area and the cabins history. There is an activity for about anything outdoorsy, the culture and vibe in the small mountain towns is full of hospitality and history. We definitely left a little piece of hearts in West Virginia. "

"House was clean and comfortable. E-biking the Blackwater Canyon Trail to Hendricks and back was wonderful, the trail is feet from the house. Nearby Douglas Falls is great. Blackwater Falls State Park is just a few miles away. So many other outdoor activities nearby. We picked this destination because my wife began researching her genealogy a few years ago and found that her mother’s family was deeply embedded in the history of Tucker County. She found a story at the library about an ancestor of hers who was lost for five days crossing Backbone Mountain from Sugar Lands to Thomas. This is the national forest area that is adjacent to Westwood (you can see the wind turbines on backbone mountain from the house). If we return, we’d definitely stay here again."

"This was a lovely retreat up in the mountains on the winding road to Spruce Knob. We enjoyed the grill and fire-pit very much! We were a little confused about the inverter for power which was off when we first arrived. My partner is familiar with the device and it was a simple push-button reset, but I wouldn't have been sure on my own. The wifi worked great, and thank you for the 'pro-tip' on where to get best service! Attending a class session wasn't what I *wanted* to do on vacation, but I'm glad I was able to do it by a cozy fire in such a beautiful place!! :-D"
