This was my first visit to Cabarete after a 5 year absence. Back then, I traveled to Cabarete each week for 2 months and stayed in a different hotel. First of all, the hotel staff is friendly and welcoming. The hotel is very close to the only supermarket in town (Janet's supermarket), which has a small restaurant in the 2nd floor that serves daily a fairly wide variety of typical dominican dishes(rice & red beans, boiled chicken, boiled pork, grilled chicken, beef steak, salad and much more) only at lunch time (noon-2pm). If you, at some point, get tired of the beach restaurants, this is a great option and a very affordable one.
The room has all the basics: A/C, Flat screen TV, cable TV, a small refrigerator, a shower, hot water and a small safe for your precious items, offered at no additional cost. I specifically asked for an ocean view room which happened to had a balcony. Wifi is also available. Access to the beach is very easy and it's just a mere 2 minute walk from the hotel's lobby through a corridor located between two neighboring hotels. From here and taking an additional 8 minute stroll along the sandy beach, you'll reach Downtown Cabarete, where all the action is. The surroundings as well as the installations are safe at any time of day or night. I felt very safe anywhere I went in Cabarete. Of course, basic personal security measures, as any other place in the world, should be taken. Price-quality relationship for this hotel is positively correlated.
