"Exceptional property, design, and experience with top hospitality. The common areas are picture-perfect overlooking small waterholes frequently visited by playful warthogs, curious antelope, and brightly colored birds while you eat breakfast and lunch. The villa interior surprised us in every corner from little aesthetic details, unexpected offerings in the cupboard, local bedtime stories at turndown, or staff leaving wine and glasses by the bathtub our first night. The private pools are...

"From arrival to departure, the stay at Founders Lodge was superb. The Pod room has an amazing view over the Game Reserve (even from the shower!).
Food is exceptional, and serving lunches and dinners from different locations within the Lodge/grounds was a nice touch.
All staff are friendly, polite and good at what they do!
The grounds are well maintained. The uninterrupted view of the waterhole allowed for lots of animal spotting.

"From check-in to checkout our experience was first class. Breakfast was cooked to order and was delicious. The property is very quiet and comes with a private dock on the river. We definitely recommend staying here. "
"Sundune Guest House is a really lovely place to stay near Addo Elephant Park.
The Manager, Byron, welcomed us warmly and with great charm, the room was large and very clean with en suite facilities and satellite TV. Breakfast was excellent and the breakfast room had a lovely view of the garden and the river.
Highly recommended. "
"It was a great place to stay. My wife, me and our little son stayed in the Elephant suite with view over towards the river. It was a clean little Apartement with everything you need. Very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious too. Strongly recommend this place if you want to visit the Addo Elephant Park. The South entrance is just a couple of minutes drive away. If you have time enough also visit person park. It's entrance is also just a minute away. Great place to spend some time. "
"Our stay at Woodbury Lodge was nothing short of spectacular. The lodge offers breathtaking views and a serene atmosphere that truly immerses you in the beauty of the Eastern Cape.
From the moment we arrived, the staff’s warm hospitality made us feel right at home. You can tell the staff take great pride in ensuring every guest has a memorable experience. Our stone-and-thatch suite was incredibly comfortable, with private deck where we could enjoy the stunning scenery and wildlife. The game...

"Extremely well taken care of by the attentive staff; game drive guide ensured excellent sightings of key wildlife; delicious food. Lovely facilities and magical experience. "
"Conveniently located near the N2 road to Port Elizabeth and very close to the south entrance of Addo Elephant park. The B&B is beautifully presented, comfortable, clean, quiet and lovely hosts who make you feel welcome and at home. In the morning I was surprised to be right by the river, eating a lovely cooked breakfast on the decking outside. I hope I get the opportunity to stay here again. Thank you "
"Our stay was incredible. Desmond, our guide, gave us some incredible sights and we were really lucky to see 4 out of the big 5 alongside various other interesting animals.
The reserve is vast and there is plenty to see, the fact that there are various lodges across the reserve means even if you have a fairly quiet hotel, there are plenty of rangers out doing drives which helps your chances of animals being spotted and your ranger making their way there.
The accomodation is lovely, a perfect room with comfortable bed and a view of a watering hole from your private plunge pool. This includes a free mini-bar which is perfect for dipping in to to spend time on the patio.
The food was fantastic, very generous and well cooked portions and the service at dinner from Sheldon and Thambo was perfect.
We weren't renting a car so got a private transfer from Martin who gave us some great info on the drive from PE and it felt like our trip started early!
All in, a perfect stay and I wouldn't hesitate to return. My only regret was only booking two night.
All in all, a faultless stay"
"The highlight of our holiday to South Africa!
A beautiful lodge with comfortable air con and tranquility (and yes a few necessary spiders) but providing the most incredible authentic experience of the wildlife, animals, birds, flora and fauna of this game reserve. Food and wine were excellent and plentiful, the service was superb, including gin and tonics during our afternoon game drive!
We had an excellent guide, Greg, with such a knowledge and passion for his work as a guide, and he led us to observe over 60 species over the course of 2 days and 4 game drives, starting with a wake up call at 5.30am for the pre-dawn game drive til 9.30am, then a second at 4pm lasting til nearly 8pm. He drove us through a fantastic storm, thunder and lightning and an impressive downpour which had us soaked but we saw so much! Listening to him explaining the habits of turtles, giraffes, buffalo and rhinos was an education, and will stay with us for life. The memories of elephants, cheetahs, giraffes, lions, ostriches fighting a jackal, a spotted eagle owl capturing a frog at night, secretary birds stalking their prey, a brown hyena and a family of bat-eared foxes… and the white rhinos and hippo, it was all simply wonderful!
Many many thanks for the best experience ever. We hope very much to return one day."
