"This was a very nice space. The bed was nice and comfortable and the shower had awesome water pressure. The room was however, very warm so we had to open the window the tiny amount that it opens. Unfortunately, the street below is very busy and loud. This noise made it difficult for me to get any rest. "
"Comfortable bed, clean room, and wonderful service. This gorgeous little hotel had everything I needed and most importantly dedicated staff who made my stay comfortable and welcoming. "
"Just returned to a two night stay at The Swan - our room was very comfortable with lovely furnishings and a great bath and shower (bath in room!). Breakfast was excellent and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable on the area. "
"Very enjoyable stay at The Cheshire Cheese Inn, staff were very helpful and friendly. We had the evening meal and the food quality was excellent and the service great. Nothing was too much trouble and the team chatted to us throughout the evening. Breakfast the following morning was top notch (my particular favourites being the sausage and bacon). I would wholeheartedly recommend a stay in this wonderful establishment if you’re ever in the area,"
"Hotel was excellent - it was great to be able to use the spa facilities (we used the hot tub and sauna but didn't use the pool) as when we were there the weather was rubbish. Dinner and breakfast were great too, as were the staff."

Best Western Plus Buxton Lee Wood Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Great property, lovely staff and facilities. As the property is on a steep hill the parking was challenging especially when other guests parked inconsiderately."
"We were mislead by the listing in Hotels.com which suggests that the property is walkable to Buxton town. In fact it is 12 miles from Buxton without shops or pubs in walking distance. However the property was spacious, clean and well furnished "
"Midweek trip to Buxton and surrounding area. Host, Louise was extremely helpful before during and after our stay.
The rooms are modern, well equipped and very comfortable for short stays.
The property is very well located for public transport and just a short walk to Buxton attractions
We would highly recommend "
"I rented a room here for a family of three, and it was convenient to where we were going and places to eat. It's in a lovely neighborhood.
Overall, it was affordable and clean. Communication with the manager is quick and convenient, mostly through email. There's an onsite caretaker that we saw in the mornings. I highly recommend it for an affordable stay."
Personality & Character - Buxton Centre Apt for 4| Pass the Keys
6/10 Okay
"The entrance and hallway was dirty, dank, and cold. This sadly lent to a bad impression. However then when we walked into the unit it was warm and tastefully done. It was good to have the powder room in addition to the full bath. However the side glass door on the tub still leaked, even though we did not touch it (the note said it be sure not to). There were good supplies left by others, I imagine, but not enough cups and glasses without regular washing. We really appreciated the washer and dryer. The bed though was very uncomfortable—slanted down on the edges and lumpy in the middle, such that we (I weigh 115 lbs and my spouse weighs 140 lbs) did not feel supported. The location, while close to the train station and but stop which was very convenient, was seemy and dodgy. For the cost, along with the cleaning charge, I would say was not a good value. It was an ‘OK’ value. There were cob webs in many areas, and mold in the shower, so a good deep cleaning could be helpful. We had to figure out how to use the DVD player, and once we did we did appreciate the movie selection. We bought two used DVD’s and left them for future guests. The couch though also was old and so not supportive, but the carpet was new and fresh. The curtains in the bedroom were difficult to close and were not light blocking. Pull down shades that blocked the outside light would be very useful. The unit was booked with “Pass the Keys” as the agent. I don’t think I will try them in the future. "
