"Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was very large, modern and clean. Nice breakfast with a good selection of hot and cold buffet products. Very pet friendly. The location is right next to the lake with beautiful views. It is easy to get into Keswick either by boat, bus or walking alongside the lake. Highly recommend this hotel."

"Our room, on the first floor, was excellent with lovely views. The food was of a high quality and the service was very good except on one of our three evenings when we were forgotten about and it took at least three complaints to get our meal started. On this occasion we were in the restaurant for about two hours and it took 45 minutes before we got our starter. This was a shame because otherwise everything was perfect."

"Our second stay at Jonathons property and how we look forward to our third. The quiet location, by a magical stream facing the mountains of Cumbria is devastatingly beautiful. I cannot emphasise enough just how tranquil, relaxing and mesmerising the natural beauty is. It's like something straight out of 'Wind in the Willows'. Jonathon is a gracious and friendly host who will bend over backwards to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible. There are walking trails beginning right in front of the property and it's only a short drive to Keswick, a bustling market town with an excellent selection of shops, cafes and bars. The cottage itself is, whilst period stone on the outside, fully fitted with all mod cons on the inside. A well equipped kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine, a log fireplace and a modern central heating system that keeps the place warm and dry, even on the wettest days. We had a marvellous stay and highly recommend it for others."

"We had a wonderful stay in this cosy, quiet cottage with plenty of space and everything you needed. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen well stocked but, you will need to bring any essentials salt and pepper, oil, etc. very nice pet welcome pack and packs of welcome with tea and cleaning items. There is a village shop nearby and several pub restaurants. There are a number of great walks on your doorstep from easy to more challenging without needing drive.. A beautiful area to explore so we will be back! Thank you very much! "

"The area around the cottage was exquisitely beautiful, with walks from the door for all levels of hiking. We did not use the car once during our stay. A note in the information booklet said the cottage is undergoing a refurbishment in winter 2025, so hopefully some of the facilities will be modernised. A set of decent knives would have been good. The major drawback for us was the proximity of the cottage to the main road. The road noise was very intrusive, particularly early morning, wishing we had read the previous reviews on this before booking. Despite this we still had a great week."

"Brandlehow is the perfect place to relax and refuel. The location is superb, nestled in the woodlands and on the shores of Derwentwater. Most days began with a coffee overlooking the lake, watching the sunrise and the cloud disperse. Beautiful walks from the doorstep and of course a lot of kayaking right from the door. The water levels were incredibly high when we arrived so couldn't make the best use of the launches as we have in the past but enjoyed a trip later in the week. The footpath that runs adjacent to the garden is really only busy around lunchtime as it is midway round the lake loop. Delighted with the additional option of hiring a hot tub too. Beds are very comfy and the landing windows overlooking the lake were great to sit and look over the lake when it got cooler."
