"Really close to Bootham Bar and everything that is inside the walls. Very warm welcome from friendly and helpful staff and even though my room was over the main road, noise didn't bother me. The room "York Theatre" was very well appointed with everything you'd need. Good size with a large en-suite and a lovely comfy bed. I'd definitely recommend staying here. "

"Jamie was most helpful, close to York racecourse and plenty of shops close by. Nice pub, The Volunteer 2 minutes round the corner. Only downside was the shower, nothing wrong with the shower itself but the floor was slippy and could do with a mat as I did slip over, luckily no damage but someone could have a nasty accident."

"I didn't expect much for the very modest price I paid. This is, after all, a pub with rooms. The room was clean but a bit shabby and basic, about what I expected. The bed was a little unforgiving and my sleep quality wasn't quite what I usually get. Breakfast was exactly as dscribed and was perfectly adequate apart from the really weak filter coffee. Our breakfast host did appear flustered, slightly "falty towers" in approach. Would I stay again? Yes I would. "

"I think the location is great. It’s close to the train station and the city center. Easy to walk to and from town. The breakfast was good, the staff is very friendly, and our room was clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this place and come back if I go back to York in the future."

"I was staying in the property for four nights, spending most days sightseeing. For a double room it was a bit cramped, but for a single traveller on a tight budget perfectly sufficient. The room was equipped with an electric kettle and a mini-fridge, which was convenient for a few day stay. The room also contained a well-stocked toilet (which however needs a hook for a towel) and a shower cabin opening to a room - not what I expected but not really a problem (if you can figure out how to set...

"Two night stay, very nice room comfiest bed we've slept in for ages. Michal was very attentive even though he was kept busy a lot of the time. Easy 10min walk to city centre & on site parking. Little bit of noise. Ate breakfast once, good value & nice ingredients, could have been a little warmer & would have preferred freshly grilled tomatoes rather than tinned ones. Would definitely stay again & recommend. "

"No good so not a B&B. Requested 1st for got 3rd no elevator. Front office very nice said we had a maze to get to room but steps were not that bad. Cleaning was great all things worked. Bed not soft good! Big problem was no food. 😒"

The bread was freshly baked each day and so delicious. Pascal had lots of tips gor places to eat and visit. Certainly our new fav B&B😍 "

"Owners of the property make you feel very comfortable and at ease. We stayed in the self-catering apartment but had an amazing breakfast each day. You can come and go without worrying about disturbing anyone. Very clean and comfortable accommodation of high standard. Will definitely be back. "
