Mountain Retreat situated amongst the ruins of the old miners village

"This place was fantastic! The house itself was fabulous, the fireplace was a really lovely and romantic touch (great for honeymoon), and the surrounding ruins are really amazing to walk through, definitely check out the mountain mine shaft trail as well. The whole area is just stunning.The location is great too, just a very short ways into Allihies proper, which is a really charming village with great fish and chips and a couple really nice pubs. If you have to chance to listen to a live music night there I highly, highly recommend it. The museum is also a must see, especially since much of the history there happened on the property you’re staying on. Our host was also excellent! She was very accommodating of our arriving quite late into the evening, and had great recommendations. We absolutely loved our time here!"

"The house is very comfortable and large, lots of room for a big group or family. The view is fabulous!It was a short distance from the town of Waterville. The host was very friendly and helpful making our stay more enjoyable."

"All delightful - especially the staff However the breakfast and dinner were disappointing. The breakfast buffet was poor - and the à la carte was limited . Considering the location surprising that there no fish on offer -2 varieties of irish breakfast? Why no local produce ? The dinner was mediocre and overpriced. It's such a shame as the rest of the hotel was excellent ."

"The property was as magnificent as described. Well set up for families or groups with large bedrooms, several sitting areas, and tremendous views of the countryside. The amenities- kitchen, sauna, grill were geared to entertaining or relaxation. Hosts were accommodating to every neeed."

"We had a wonderful time at Josephine's. The ocean views were gorgeous. Lots of local beaches to explore at low tide. Nice location for Skellig Ring, Valentia, Skellig Michael, Killarney. 2 hours from Dingle and Cork. Lots of hills to climb behind the house. We caught a couple clear niggts for the most amazing stargazing. "
