My wife and I love Budapest. We have visited the city 12 times over the past 8 years, staying 1-3 months each visit. The trip we just concluded was probably the single best visit we have had. And this apartment contributed heavily to our enjoyment.
First, the location. Situated on a lovely park one half block from Oktogon Square, the entire city was either a quick tram (#4 and #6) or a subway (yellow line) away. The Opera House is 2 blocks away, the Operettszinhas is one block away, Liszt Ferenc Ter (with its great restaurants) is one half block away, and the korut ("Grand Boulevard") is one half block away. The location cannot be better.
Secondly, the apartment itself. On the second floor, accessed by a relatively large elevator, it overlooks lovely Jokai Ter park. The apartment is spacious by any standard. The salon, which includes a large sitting area, and ample dining area, and the kitchen, is large enough for 6 people to be comfortable. The balcony off the salon (and the master bedroom, as well) offers a nice view of the park. The kitchen is fully modern, with a 4 burner cooktop, a full oven, a large refrigerator (with large freezer), and even a dishwasher. Everything needed to fix a full meal is there - pots and pans, small appliances, dishes and flatware. It is nicely equipped.
The master bedroom is huge, probably 4 meters by 8 meters. It has a large king size bed, chairs, an armoire, tables, lamps, and even an air conditioner! Its ensuite bathroom is not large, but it has ample room, with a shower stall.
The second bedroom is smaller, but more than sufficient for 2 persons. The large bed is comfortable, and the armoire is full size. The desk is fine for computer use. The hall bath, next to the second bedroom, is very large and modern, with a large tub with shower and the washing machine.
The apartment contains everything needed for a long stay. Plenty of bed and bath linens makes changing linens easy. And it is fully stocked with every including laundry detergent, paper products, shampoo, etc. It's all there in good quantity.
Thirdly, the landlord. Orsolya and her lovely, charming daughter Csilla, did everything to make our stay comfortable. They are super people determined to take care of their renters. Both are lovely people.
Anyone staying in Budapest will find this apartment a wonderful place from which to enjoy this great city. Thank you, Csilla, for all your help, care, and graciousness.
