Great mountain views in a quiet location

Location:
Little Bear Chalet is a log chalet with gorgeous smoky mountain views from an elevation of 2800' and paved access. Custom construction and design only begin to describe this cozy log chalet near Bryson City, NC. Located about 10 minutes from Bryson City, and 20 minutes from Cherokee. Close to many attractions and day trips. The Great Smoky Railroad has a variety of excursions and seasonal trips. NOC offers whitewater rafting down the Nantahala river. Spend the day at Deep Creek with a picnic, hikes to waterfalls and a refreshing tube trip down the creek.

Access road:
Cars and Most All vehicles- Paved and hard packed gravel sections on a well maintained mountain road, Switchbacks and moderate to steep incline sections possible, no washed out section. The roads to this cabin are not considered 'Motorcycle Friendly'.

Exterior:
Little Bear Chalet is a beautiful log cabin in a peaceful setting. A few cabins can be seen from the deck, but you still have plenty of privacy to enjoy your stay. Paved roads bring you all the way to the cabin, but the parking area is gravel. Two steps up and your own the covered part of the deck that leads to the entrance. The deck continues on around to the front where you can take in the amazing mountain view along the way. Several rocking chairs line the front, providing a place to sit back and enjoy all this area has to offer. A whimsical wooded area out front will leave you smiling, as you notice faces on the trees smiling back at you. The long range views of the Smoky Mountains here are ever changing, as the blue sky fills with clouds and then fades away again, the sunlight casts a wide spectrum of colors and shadows across the mountains, giving a different look to the view all through out the day. The far side of the deck has a hot tub. Sitting in the warm massaging waters and sipping a glass of wine make this a special place to retreat. The deck also has a gas grill, ideal for grilling juicy steaks for dinner. The side yard has a swing that sits near the fire pit. Roasting marshmallows over a crackling fire and listening to the crickets in the evening will add to the calmness this cabin brings.

Entry level:
The entry brings you inside to a warm and welcoming cabin. This cabin features wood tones, chalet windows, cathedral ceilings, and little black bears scattered all through out the home. An open floor plan joins the kitchen, dining, and living room. This cabin is perfect for a romantic getaway for 2, but comfortably suits 4. The kitchen is fully equipped and you will find everything you need to make your favorite recipes, The unique handcrafted red cedar and aspen log table allows you to take in the views as you dine, with large windows bringing the outdoors in. Comfortable leather furniture in the living room lets you enjoy a stone gas fireplace, satellite TV, and the great views. Off from the kitchen there is a comfortable queen size bedroom. You will feel like you are being pampered when you snuggle down into the soft bedding at night. A full bath with tub is across from this room, and a washer and dryer hide behind a closet next to the kitchen.

Loft
A set of stairs take you up from the living room to the open loft. A king size bed fills this master suite in the loft area. A very romantic room to share together. The mountain views can be enjoyed through the front chalet windows while still snuggled in bed. Adjacent to this room is a full private bath with shower and jetted tub.

Little bear
The only downside to our stay was the scary drive up the mountain. One lane straight up and winding. No room to move if traffic coming. Yard was very small (brought my dogs). Cabin was clean and cozy.

Beautiful place
Great place up high in the mountains. Good views and I would definitely rent from them again. We come here every year for the polar Express and this was by far the best looking and well maintained cabin we have stayed in.

Lovely Little Getaway
My husband and I spent six days at Little Bear Chalet at the end of October/early November. The cabin is cozy and clean. It was equipped with everything we needed…we did eat at home a couple of nights and used the gas grill. We had cocktails on the deck and enjoyed the magnificent views of the Smoky Mountains. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub. We loved the gas fireplace on the cool nights. Beds were comfy. The only thing I would ‘fix’ is better lighting in the bathrooms. For me, the lighting was very dim (I am old and need more light!). I would definitely recommend staying at Little Bear if you visit the Smokies. *We did not particularly enjoy the switchback driveway, especially at night coming home….be aware you are driving up into the mountains on a one lane road. Other then that, the cabin was lovely.

Very nice cabin in the mountains
Enjoyed it very much. It would be nice if basic siaps were included. We did not have bar soap, washing detergent, or a sponge to clean dishes. Otherwise the view was great and the cabin is cozy.

Perfect Getaway
Went up for an extended birthday weekend with the wife. The location is very convenient to Bryson City, Cherokee and the Nantahala Gorge and Outdoor Center. The cabin was clean and cozy and just what we needed. Check in and out was a breeze. The road up to the cabin is breathtaking. We will definitely stay here again during the summer.

Perfect summer getaway
This is our second time staying in this property. The first time we stayed was during Christmas. We had a little issue with the plumbing because it was cold and the pipes froze. We decided to come back in July to spend our summer vacation in the mountains. Everything was amazing the cabin was clean the cabinets were stocked with the utensils and kitchen ware that we needed to cook. It has decent views, it’s within 10 to 15 minutes of Bryson City. The location of the cabin is very quiet. You do, however, have some neighbors nearby, but most of the guest are fairly quiet. We enjoyed our stay here, and will most likely try the other cabins that they have. Make sure you go outside at dusk to watch the fire flies/lightning bugs come out at night. I would recommend bringing a cooler with your food for the week if you are planning on staying in the cabin, but there is a grocery store close to the city.

Family Mountain sanctuary
This place has everything you need!! Our family stayed with a dog. We enjoyed the fire pit and the hot tub in the evenings. Perfect mountain views from inside and front porch area. It’s close to horseback riding, whitewater rafting, park, brewery, and zip lining adventures. Check in and out was easy, place was super clean, grill was useful, washer and dryer and wifi…feels just like home. Highly recommend.

Beautiful Cabin
Beautiful, comfortable and very clean cabin. The road up to the cabin was scary but my husband is a pro with steep hill destinations. The cabin is not a secluded place, there are many other cabins/homes nearby. The downstairs TV isn't a smart TV so if you want to watch your Netflix you will have to go to the master bedroom upstairs. We brought our pup to hike with us and was a little disappointed that the Smokey Mountains does not allow pets on most of their trails. Loved the town of Bryson City, very pet friendly but food was mostly bar type food and not very tasty. All in all the cabin was a pleasant way to come home after a long day and soak in the jacuzzi and sit around the beautiful fire pit outside. LOVED THE CABIN!!!!!

Beautiful mountain views
Cozy mountain cabin featuring a lovely deck and fire pit. Hot tub on deck was fun to use. Kitchen adequately stocked but could use a 2nd saucepan. Comfortable furniture and master bed in loft provided wonderful views. Dog walking area limited to the steep mountain road. Road was busy with construction traffic. While no fault of property, there were noisy neighbors several evenings.
