Coquillade lives up to Relais & Chateau’s reputation. This was my second visit from the US to the hotel. and I’d happily return."

"We’ve stayed in interesting places before, but this one was truly exceptional, thanks to owners with the vision and hands-on skills to transform an aged building into a spacious, well-appointed “gîte.” It met or surpassed all our needs: comfortable beds and plentiful seating, a good laundry area, plenty of plugs for recharging, a functional kitchen, parking right outside the door... and other features you might want in your own home (like smart skylights that close automatically in case of rain). The neighborhood was quiet, and a boulangerie and grocery store were just minutes away. Delightful!"

"Check in wasnt allowed until 5pm which we felt was a bit mean, but we were allowed to bag drop at 4pm given our flight arrived at 10am.The owners met us, and seemed to oversee everything including the running and cleaning of the house, which included a 7am visit for a 9am checkout on our last day which again seemed a little onerous. The house was extremely well equipped with everything we could need and the location was excellent for touring all the beautiful local villages. The swimming pool and area was lovely and we were responsible for turning off and on the pool pump and waterfall which was fine and trusting of the owners. The villa wasn't that clean. The showers upstairs in particular were very dirty, and yellowing in the corners with dirt. The toilets didn't seem to have have seen bleach in a while and started to smell during our stay. We were asked to look after their pet tortoises each morning, which we enjoyed but some may not relish the responsibility on holiday. At checkout we were asked to pay a further 150 Euros cash for the clean or to do it ourselves - we did wonder if the cleanliness of the villa in areas was down to this protocol. Overall we had a nice stay - the positives outweighed the negatives."

Un seul bémol, il n'est pas précisé dans la description de la maison qu'il s'agit d'une piscine hors sol : on accède dans l'eau par une échelle et il n'y a pas de rebord pour profiter au bord de la piscine. Néanmoins, la piscine est appréciable en cas de forte chaleur."
