We really enjoyed our stay in this cabin! Everything was super clean and kitchen was well stocked! We were close to the fly fishing on the South Holston! Loved the chairs out front for star gazing!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pheasant Tail. The river is close enough to enjoy throughout the day. The cabin was lovely, clean, comfy, and cozy. Also conveniently stocked with essentials. We did not want to leave and definitely hope to be back soon!! I highly recommend staying here.
Great location, calm, quiet in the mornings for all the noise (races) that come at the end of the day. Neighbors nearby but you wouldn't know they exists if you couldn't see them. Looking forward to our next stay.
NHRA fans and had a great time in Thunder Valley! We also all really enjoyed staying in a log cabin for the first time and it couldn't have been cleaner or more inviting. The surroundings and the peacefulness were outstanding! It felt like home and was very comfortable! Really appreciate Bruce and Paula for allowing us to stay in this historic home. We are looking forward for a return visit! Thanks again for the hospitality!
Had some fly fishing buddies and the Pheasant Tail cabin was perfect for us at Tailwaters Lodge. Paula & Bruce were so helpful in fishing location advice for the S Holston River. The house was all set for us and they also offer delivered food options so we didn’t need to take time away from the property to go to a restaurant. The house has every amenity, comfortable beds, great kitchen supplies, TV, outside grill, fire pit and yes Wifi. They are such nice hosts and I highly recommend their properties at Tailwaters Lodge!
My friends and I used Pheasant Tail Cabin as our base of operations for fishing the S. Holston and Watauga Rivers. The cabin was perfect for hard-core fishermen who got up early, made breakfast, and didn't return till the evening. We then cooked supper and after eating, the best part of the stay was sitting in the Adirondack chairs around the fire pit, where we saw lots of wildlife, including a flock of wild turkeys, cottontail rabbits, a skunk, and hundreds of fireflies while we sipped bourbon before retiring to bed.
Owners where very helpfull with there property on letting us know where to fish and what we could do to make our experience awesome down by the river! Would definitely come back again!
Beds are comfortable. Property is clean. Plenty of comfortable lounging space. Plenty of room to eat, inside and outside in screened in porch. Kitchen was well appointed and gas grill worked well. Owners were pleasant, helpful, and accessible. Want to go back next year.
It was a wonderful time, something different for the kids to enjoy Christmas time. The cabin was cozy and it gave a feel of home. Enjoy running on the trails early in the morning, it has a really easy and close access to the river and the trail. One of the best memories for the whole family. The kids ask to stay 2 wks., so we are definitely coming back. Thank you Paula and Bruce for wonderful time and memories.
This cabin was excellent! The proximity to private river and lots of public water and trails (5 min walk), ample dishes, glasses, set large utensils and nice pots/pans, condiments & spices
There were also more beds than expected- 7 twins!
Heaters available in each room and a cozy fireplace. The property is beautiful. We will be back
