Enclosed lawned back garden with sitting out area and garden furniture. 2 dogs welcome, to be kept on a lead (sheep country). Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. . Parish Land Barn is a stunning, detached barn conversion located on the owners’ land. It is very spacious and full of character and comprises accommodation on three separate mini levels, with a few steps in between each room. The whole property benefits from very high ceilings and a real sense of space yet retains a very cosy countryside feel. There is an open plan living/bedroom area with a Smart TV, fantastic wood burner-style open fireplace at one end and a kingsize bed at the other. Step down a few steps and find yourself in the large kitchen/diner area with French doors that lead out onto the south facing enclosed lawned garden with lovely countryside views.
Back inside the kitchen area you’ll find everything you need for your stay including a dishwasher, coffee machine, electric Aga range-style cooker and an American-style fridge/freezer. The bathroom is a stylish room which is accessed via a stable door with some steps leading down and comprises a free-standing bath with a shower attachment, and there’s the added luxury of underfloor heating.
The owners’ land, located in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is surrounded by the beautiful Quantocks Hills scenery and if you have horses, there are facilities for you to bring your four-legged friend or two with you on holiday! There is stabling for one horse and paddock space for two. You’ll get a sense of the countryside with wildlife such as sheep, chickens, peahens, and rams on your doorstep so although very welcome, four-legged friends of the smaller variety, namely up to two dogs, must be kept on a lead when out and about.
If you’re looking for a romantic break for two or simply a quality countryside retreat as a perfect base for a walking adventure, then look no further! The Quantock Hills are an area of wilderness and tranquillity and is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which means that its distinctive character and cultural heritage are in the nation’s interest to safeguard them. Physically, the Quantock Hills offer great diversity, reflecting the relationship between the geology, slopes and exposure of the area, and the range of past and present human activities and influences. Panoramic views lead you through coast, heath, and combe. Explore and you will find rocky Jurassic coastline, exposed heathland summits, deep wooded combes, undulating farmland and attractive villages, all within this protected landscape. Access by car to other areas such as Bristol, Exeter, the northern coastal region and beyond are within easy reach due to the proximity of the M5 motorway.

Would be lovely in the summer
Idyllically peaceful - miles from anywhere. Beautiful barn conversion; kitchen has underfloor heating ,but large main living/bedroom unheated except for an open fire which does not warm the room (added to which you have to buy logs or pay for a heater). Wifi only available mornings and evenings which did not suit us as the weather was cold and wet so we were in a lot! Could do with a few more things for cooking (measuring jug/bowls/small saucepan) otherwise well equipped, although you have to put the Aga on yourself and it takes 5 hours to heat the oven! Would be a great place to stay in the summer, but not for the cold weather we experienced.
