"We (two couples) loved our stay at Gizeux. Stéphanie is a generous host with her time and hospitality. Our stay started perfectly with a home cooked meal and stories about the history of the château. Gizeux is an excellent base to explore the Loire and its magnificent châteaux. At the end of the day it was always very special driving back to our very own! The family is doing an incredible job of preserving the château and it was an absolute privilege to make it our home for a few days."

The Park Room that we stayed in was full of antiques, with stunning decor and four shuttered windows that overlooked the the estate, pond and horses, donkeys and cow. The breakfast was very special with the host's homemade marmelade, bread, yoghurt, fresh fruit and eggs from the chateau gardens, local cheeses, pastries. Amazing. "Fantastic stay; our two families had a wonderful time with lots of space, peace and quiet in the middle nowhere. It was lovely to be welcomed with local honey and bone grown produce. Our disappointment was the lack of comfortable seating especially outdoors, particularly by the pool. We should note is was in excess of 30 degrees and some fans would have been welcome in the house, but appreciate these temperatures were excessive. All sad to leave especially the teens."

"This is a lovely property, clearly loved by the family who have grown up here. Pretty much everything you would want from a holiday home - large garden, sun patio, good kitchen and dining room, nice living rooms and bedrooms. Lots of food ingredients which means you don’t need to bring spices, s&o etc. About 1 and a bit hours drive to Loire Valley, but only 20 minutes to the nearest of the Loir/Loire chateaux. Le Mans a fascinating to wan with lots of history # plus the Le Mans 24 hour museum if...
