Charming architecture, comfortable rooms

In the historic centre of the town, but in a quiet small street: this hotel is perfectly situated to walk short distances to a lot of monuments, museums, the shopping street or the strange shopping centre behind the reconstructed front of the duke's castle. The outside looks very historical and the stairs inside are as well historical but the rooms show all contemporary standards.

Das Zimmer inklusive Bad war nicht nur in die Jahre gekommen, sondern auch total verdreckt und kalt. Das war Staub, Haare und Dreck der letzten Jahre. Auf unsere Beschwerde wurde punktuell übergewischt. Angeblich wollte der Chef des Hauses sich mit uns in Verbindung setzen, hat er natürlich nicht. Beim Frühstück musste man zusehen, das man etwas ergattert. Da man das Zimmer im Voraus bezahlt, ist der Gast total egal.

Die Lage der Unterkunft ist super und das Ambiente des Hotels in seiner Eigenart charmant. Die Treppe ins OG ist sehr steil und die Stufen schmal. Unfallgefahr! Das Frühstücksbüffet ist leider sehr reduziert. Es gibt keine Milchalternative und keinen Aufstrich, der pflanzlich ist.

Wir haben eine Nacht dort verbracht, dafür ging es. In dem Zimmer war in den Ecken viel Staub( lange nicht gereinigt). Durch das Alter der Unterkunft war die Luft im Zimmer sehr stickig( 28 Grad Aussentemperatur). Fenster öffnen war erst spät möglich, da im angrenzenden Restaurant viel Publikumsverkehr war( Aussenterasse direkt vorm Fenster). Das Frühstücksbuffet war einfach. Frühstückszeit von 7-9 Uhr sehr kurz und früh.

Ein uriges altes Fachwerkhaus, das durch seinen Charme vergangener Tage besticht. Lage ist super, man ist sofort in der sehr schönen Altstadt/Innenstadt. Viele Restaurants und Bars sind fußläufig zu erreichen. Innenausstattung ist leider in die Jahre gekommen und hier und da fehlt es leider an Liebe. Trotzdem hab ich den Aufenthalt genossen, man darf eben kein modernes Hotel erwarten. Es knarzt, es ist relativ hellhörig, die Treppenstufen sind mittelalterlich (kurz und hoch), sowie die Deckenhöhe recht gering. Ich schätze mal 1,85m. Und doch hab ich sehr gut geschlafen, Bett war nebenbei sehr bequem. Frühstück war ok, Kaffee und Tee sind vorhanden, Räumlichkeiten werden vom Restaurant nebenan genutzt. Für Veganer ist die Auswahl allerdings minimalistisch. Mir hat mein Aufenthalt dennoch viel Freude bereitet, eben weil ich mich darauf eingelassen habe und circa wußte worauf ich mich einstellen kann. Das Haus hat viel erlebt und gesehen und das ist schön zu sehen und ein wenig zu erleben, also, gerne wieder :)

Sehr zentrale Lage in der Innenstadt von Braunschweig. Nur ein paar Schritte zu Restaurants, Cafe und den schönen Plätzen und Einrichtunge in Braunschweig. Parken nur im Parkhaus - zwar gleich ums Eck, jedoch recht teuer. Die Zimmer sind ok. Die Ausstattung in die Jahre gekommen, jedoch sauber und funktionstüchtig. Ich hatte ein Zimmer zur Straße - Kopfsteinpflaster - ziemlich laut ... aber zentral gelegen hat eben auch seine "Nachteile". Ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt und komme gerne wieder.

Gute Lage fußläufig zur Innenstaft, Gebäude aus dem 15. Jh. - kein Aufzug, sehr steile Treppen, Einrichtung „Eiche rustikal“, aber in gutem Zustand. Sehr sauber. Personal sehr freundlich. Frühstück recht sparsam, Kaffee nur aus der Pumpkanne, nur gekochte Eier, weitere Eierspreisen Fehlanzeige. Preis/Leistung noch OK.
