"Clean and comfortable accommodation. Very pleasant staff. There were no facilities for breakfast at the accommodation or for making tea/coffee in the room. My main concern was the lack of ability to come and go without having to make contact with the property manager by phone, with the possible roblem that they were using their phone and consequently couldn't respond promptly."

"Unable to be checked-in anytime after 4 p.m. when I arrived there. And also told by others who live there (not the owner) that my room will not have an en-suite bathroom either. "

"At first entry the property absolutely reaked of stale spices, I assumed somebody had just cooked but the smell remained until I left. My room at the front of the house was fine. A little bit dirty in places. The real nightmare was the bathroom. After walking through the kitchen which was dirty, full of dirty dishes, unswept/mopped for weeks and lacking supplies, I found 2 full binbags inside by the back door and then went to the bathroom. It was filthy. The bath with weeks worth or black hair...

"Had a wonderful three nights, comfortable bed, enormous continental breakfast which was fab, fascinating decor which we loved, big wet room with huge towels which were so cosy, slippers provided, in fact you couldn’t fault anything, beautiful gardens to relax in, great hosts, very welcoming. Would definitely stay again when in the area. Highly recommend 😄"

"Booked a one night stay to extend another hotel stay close by so we could do the Churnet Valley rail trip. Had a comfortable stay, everything very clean & comfortable. Was a little disconcerted to find we were actually staying in the house with the owner, an unknown experience for us. Julie was very friendly & helpful. Really appreciated the cold bottles of water we were given and the brunch bar."
