Just six miles from downtown Bozeman, this home is the perfect balance of privacy and convenience. Rent together with the Sourdough Ranch Black Bear Cottage to accommodate up to 13 guests!

Our week at Sourdough

We had a wonderful time and will stay here again when we come back to Bozeman. The location is perfect and so peaceful with great views. The Ranch has great space for our crew of 7- good living space and the outdoor deck got plenty of use!

You can’t beat this home for excellent location and beautiful views. You are 15 minutes from charming downtown Bozeman and multiple day hiking trips! Large home where you are able to spread out!

Amazing views and location

This house was perfect for our family. House has everything you need. The hiking trails are an easy walk and a big bonus . I would definitely recommend this place to a large group. The outdoor spaces are so comfortable with gorgeous views.

Great place to call home base.

The house was great to come back to after going out to see some of the beautiful places that Montana has to offer. Great views and one of my personal best memories was watching a storm go through the valley and listening to the thunder roll and echo. Plenty of great places to gather everyone together and plenty of room if you're wanting some privacy.

Incredible home on beautiful land!

Friends surprised a Bozeman local to celebrate her 40th birthday with a relaxing weekend in this home. Great rooms, nice entertaining space, and wonderful outdoor sitting areas. We saw tons of wildlife around the house.

Fantastic home

We had a wonderful time staying in this home, which is close to town and amazing trails and hikes. The home is perfectly set up for two families or parents with adult children who want a little more space. The deck was perfect for watching wildlife wander through and for relaxing with a good book. Highly recommend!

Awesome Getaway

The property was beautiful. Experienced gorgeous sunsets and fireworks from the porch. So much to do in the area. Rafting, horseback riding, music festivals and of course Yellowstone. The pond on the property is stocked with fish for catch and release. Sourdough Canyon trail is really close by and is a beautiful, easy hike.

Great time with friends

We came with three other couples and had a great time! There was plenty of room for everyone and each couple had their own bathroom. The kitchen was well-equipped and had everything we needed ( except an ice cream scoop). The house is just far enough from town to make it secluded but close enough that you can be at the grocery store in five minutes! We would definitely stay there again!

In town for graduation

We had a large group in town for graduation ceremonies at MSU. This home provided plenty of space and the awesome kitchen was well stocked for cooking large meals. We did struggle a bit at first getting up the driveway with fresh snowfall on it. A 4-wheel drive vehicle is probably necessary in winter. The huge wrap around deck offers awesome views and there was abundant wildlife around. It was really great to stay in this beautifully crafted home. The pool table was really fun too! Thank you!

Amazing views, outdoor space, and well decorated cabin!

Loved the peace and quiet of this out of town, but not too far away, house. A very restful getaway. Two beds and two baths were equally nice. Good ATT cell and data coverage, and the house has wifi that worked well. Kitchen is very well stocked with equipment and basic seasonings, etc. There are some negative comments in the reviews about the newly constructed water treatment plant. It was a non-issue for us. It is down and to the side, and not very tall. Still plenty of great views to enjoy!

The perfect vacation home for 2 couples with kids.

We loved this home. It was very spacious. For reference, there are 3 bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. In the basement, there is a king size bed with en suite bath. Then there is a room with two twins that you walk through the bath to get to. Upstairs, there is a queen room with en suite bath, and a king with no bath. There is a full bath across the hall. So there are 4 full baths. This made it very easy for 2 couples and 2 kids to get ready each day. The kitchen had plenty of dishes, pots and pans, etc. There were even random supplies like salt/pepper, toilet paper, etc, so you don't have to buy every single thing you need. The furnishings were all nice and appropriate for the amount of guests. The view was wonderful. The internet worked fine, and we also had good Verizon cell service. If we go back to Bozeman, we will try to get this house again.

Sourdough Ranch Main House

We loved this custom log home and it's setting. The open floor plan made it easy to all be together while enjoying different activities inside the home. Having a pack and play provided for my 10 month old grandson was an added bonus! The quiet serenity, views and sunsets were spectacular yet downtown was only a few minutes away. As with any rental there are always going to be a few things that could be improved upon. Sadly, there is a huge construction project of a water treatment plant going on just below the property and their generator ran often and was very loud. It didn't affect the view as you tend to look out over it. Of course, this isn't the fault of the rental company or the owners but just an unfortunate situation. To be honest, there were a few things inside that could have been prepared for us upon our arrival. The couch bed in the TV room wasn't made up and we had a hard time finding the correct linens for it as they weren't in the hall closet. We actually didn't find them until the next day in the master closet behind the room entry door (obscure) and so created a make shift bed the first night. Also, we ran out of toilet paper & paper towels as there weren't many supplied. The outside decks were not swept and had some cob webs around the doors and windows. These are all minor things that did not affect our enjoyment of the house. We Loved it and love Bozeman! I do want to mention that it is extremely important NOT to leave food outside and pay attention when you are BBQ'ing as we had a black bear come up on the deck during our Father's Day dinner that we were enjoying outside. We scared it away but realized that food protection is very important. We wondered if the bird feeders may also have been a draw for it. I would stay at the Sourdough Ranch House again, for sure, while enjoying all that the Bozeman area has to offer.

Great house, great location, great hiking trail close by. Photo on website does not do justice, I actually thought that was a road passing by the front of the house, it’s not, house is actually in a beautiful wildlife preserve, the town water facility in front, is very tasteful and does not mar the view.. Bedrooms are large, bed very comfortable, bathrooms good, decks are wonderful. The only complaint would be you can not get into property till 5pm and out by 10am and you pay for the first WHOLE day, it should be a half day payment with such a late check in and early check out.

GREAT LOCATION!

Great views and great location! Perfect for fireworks over the 4th of July..Laura, our contact, was wonderful and very helpful. Four families fit very comfortably in this 4-4 two story..Kitchen had everything we needed. Lots of Deer, but no Bears!
