"The property is a hidden gem, we didn’t realise the history until we arrived. Beautifully presented and location is great too. It’s about half hour walk to Bowness, 5 mins in the car. Staff was polite, attentive and breakfast was great too. Our rooms were at the back with lovely views of the garden and lake. We travelled as a family of 4. I would definitely recommend and consider staying there again "

"The staff were very helpful, and the spa/gym was good for us though somewhat dated. THe only negative was with the evening meal on 3oth October. The lamb and Tapas were really good but the vegetables served with the lamb were inedible. They had been cooked but were like sticks, couldnt even cut them with a knife. The next tables had the same issue. Really strange. We should have calle the chef to explain but we felt we didnt want any fuss. "

"The hotel was comfortable and had wonderful views of the lake . The decor had a Scottish feel and was clean. We were booked to have a Snug but ended up having a classic double. So spacious a d comfortable. For breakfast we had a lot of choice including a full Engish. Staff were polite and helpful. One tip: when you arrive at the hotel, park in front and unload your bags before parking in the car park. Otherwise you will have to carry your bags up stairs to reception. On the whole a lovely hotel close to Lake Windemere. Will definitely stay here again. "

"From the moment we pulled into the car park we had a great welcome and nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were brilliant for the whole stay. We had a 4 poster room which have amazing views of the lake. Breakfast was very good with great choices and perfectly cooked hot selection. Service was 5 star."

"Lovely hotel we stayed in the family room with a balcony. Very spacious and clean. Loved the location of being outside of the town so it was quiet but a 2minute walk to everything. The breakfast was lovely, especially the eggs Benedict. Parking was free and had a space for every room. We really enjoyed our stay and would come back."
