Chalupská slať, Šumava, Czech republic

Swamp lake in highmoor Chalupská slať is the biggest in country with 1.2 hectars and is located ca. 950 meters altitude in the Šumava or Boehmerwald mountains National Park reservation in southwest of Czech republic. There are several swimming islands in the lake and peat used to be dug in the border areas of the moor. The typical vegetation consists of spruce, birch and mountain pine, peat moss and heather.
