Chalupská slať, Šumava, Czech republic

Swamp lake in highmoor Chalupská slať is the biggest in country with 1.2 hectars and is located ca. 950 meters altitude in the Šumava or Boehmerwald mountains National Park reservation in southwest of Czech republic. There are several swimming islands in the lake and peat used to be dug in the border areas of the moor. The typical vegetation consists of spruce, birch and mountain pine, peat moss and heather.

"Aus der Beschriebung ging für uns nicht hervor, dass es nur mit einer steilen Leiter in den oberen Schlafbereich geht. Außerdem konnte man sich dort nur gebückt bewegen, es ist kaum möglich dort zu 2. zu schlafen. Die Dusche sieht toll aus, es funktioniert leider nur die Handbrause. Die Schränke und Kleiderschränke sind mit Kissen und Decken voll, so dass wir aus dem Koffer gelebt haben. Das Sofa ist durchgeseeen. "Older property, but they have obviously been investing and modernizing recently. There's an amazing new playground and walking area behind the first building and staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The pool is pretty deep everywhere, but a fairly good temperature and very clean and nice. Our two kids enjoyed it, but only because one can swim and the other still has water wings. With the included Aktivcard, all the local swimming pools are included, so you can also just go to one of them instead. We were really surprised at what all was included with the card and were wishing we had more time to make use of it. Definitely a bargain and we will be back! :-) Oh yeah, beautiful view as well! (We were on the 7th floor.)"
