"Lovely hotel we had a room in the lodge at the rear of the hotel with our 2 dogs, lovely roomy comfortable room. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Dogs were not allowed into the restaurant but were made very welcome in the bar area where our table was all ready for us in the morning for breakfast "

"We absolutely loved our stay at the Beacacarrie house! The property looks remote on the map but is quite convenient and we actually saw some of the most stunning and quintessential Scottish highland sceneries to and from the property (like the highland cows). The house is nice, spacious but cozy, and very clean, and has great view of the ocean. The host is very responsive and helped us with everything we needed. Overall 12 out 10 experience, highly recommend to anyone traveling to the Isle of Skye. We wish we were here for longer, and if we come back we’ll definitely look up this property’s availability again. "

"We had the perfect holiday on Skye staying at The Backrest and would highly recommend it. The house was so comfortable and warm, and provided everything we needed - and more. My favorite was the chairs in the window, perfect for watching the changing weather and enjoying the stunning scenery. The house was spotlessly clean, and we found all of the furnishings to be of the highest standard.The location is stunning, and excellent for venturing out to the amazing destinations that Skye has to offer. It was also handy having the facilities at Dunvegan nearby for all of those forgotten bits and pieces.The Backrest is a great dog friendly house to stay in, from the space for all of his bits and pieces, to the extra biscuit treats left out for him. Having a fenced in garden was also perfect for our puppy as it meant he could have his own adventures safely, and he found lots of new smells to get familiar with.We had a fantastic week and hope to visit again. Thank you to Mette, Sonia, and the pups for sharing it with us."

"This is the most beautiful, well-designed house we have ever rented. Coming back after a day of wandering to its views of the loch and sheep and lambs wandering by was wonderful and relaxing. The kitchen had everything we needed. The beds and furniture were very comfortable. If you want to be in the center of a town this property is not for you - Dunvegan is an 8 minute drive on a small road. For us it was perfect and we were sad to leave."

"This place is a treasure. It's in an exquisite valley in the far and quiet corner of Skye, and well worth the drive. Jane is warm, welcoming, and readily shares her trove of knowledge about Skye: places, people, activities, hikes. She's a superb cook and gracious hostess: many fine, fresh breakfast options, including the bread she bakes herself, and the best granola we have ever tasted, impressive assortments of fruits and berries, etc etc etc. Our suite was new and immaculate, with many well thought-out functional and aesthetic touches.
