Villa Yrondi

"If you’re looking for modern amenities and are used to resort life, stop reading now. Villa Yrondi probably isn’t for you. This is for travelers who want to tune out, slow down, and enjoy island life without needing constant entertainment. I stayed in the Sculpture Room—rustic, full of character, and surrounded by beautiful art. There’s no TV, so bring a book, download something beforehand, or embrace doing absolutely nothing. The staff was wonderful—warm, helpful, and welcoming. There are bikes available, but I’d recommend renting a car. Between Bora Bora’s manual, cash-only, seemingly dynamic taxi pricing, you may end up spending about the same anyway. The drivers, however, were lovely. I spent much of my time in the patio/dining area enjoying the view and on the rooftop landing with my morning coffee. The highlight was a personal invitation from owner/artist Garrick Yrondi to visit his home and studio. Seeing his artwork, decor, and enjoying the view from his balcony made the stay truly special. Yes, there are a few small critters around—it’s the tropics—but if you’re not squeamish, Villa Yrondi is a must-stay. I’d absolutely return. Next time, just a little more prepared. ;)"

"We had a wonderful stay! The location is perfect and very convenient, with everything you need close by. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The bungalows are basic, but they have everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. We especially loved how private and peaceful it felt. The property is very close to the local markets and just a short distance from beautiful Matira Beach. There are also some lovely restaurants nearby, which was very convenient. Overall, a great place to stay if you’re looking for a relaxed, private, and convenient base to explore the area. We would happily stay here again!"

"Beautiful. The head of reception was exceptional. You can build a resort around him. Everything was five star - except maybe the very touristy show with the all you can eat buffet. The rooms are better than they look in the brochure!"

"Beach bungalow 12 had been renovated and a good alternative to the more expensive overwater bungalows. Don’t expect much from the breakfast. Good dinners at Lucky pizza and beach club ( great sunset from here) both easy walk from hotel."

"This property was very special! Clean, private, amazing views and outdoor space. The hosts were so nice and responsive. It was fun to stay on the main island and be a part of the local culture vs the resorts on the outer strip. 10/10, don’t even think twice about booking this property, just book it and know you’re in for a treat. "What an incredibly unique, memorable stay in Bora Bora. If you want to avoid the crazy costs of an overwater bungalow but you still want a magical stay at a more affordable price, this is the place. My wife and I booked the Garden Villa Suite for four nights and loved it. The property owners are so accommodating and friendly (rides to/from numerous places including pick-up at the village port, always checking on us, able to book excursions for you, provided us with a complimentary bottle of rum as a welcome gift, etc.). The villa itself is the ultimate blend of indoor/outdoor living, with covered kitchen and bathroom/shower areas outdoors and your overside bedroom and sitting room indoors with a super cold AC unit. Had use of property bicycles, which we used one day to pedal the entire loop of the main island (almost 3 hours but a pretty easy, mostly flat road) and another day to go to the public beach on the south side of the island very near the property. The property/room decor, photos on walls, and prideful touches are like a time capsule to past centuries of navigators and explorers across the South Pacific and other parts of the world. There is a steep walk up a hill to reach the property from the main road if you're not driving or receiving a ride, but we were fine with the moderate exercise and didn't find it too difficult. There are also pesky mosquitos which you'd expect on any island -- a small price to pay for a stay we'll remember. Would definitely return."

"Our stay at Bora Bora Holidays was absolutely amazing. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home throughout our stay. The hotel was worth every dollar spent, and my wife and I enjoyed some of the most beautiful sunsets we’ve seen in a long time right from the beach. If you’re looking for a relaxing, authentic Polynesian experience, this is the place to stay. Highly recommended! 🌅🏝️❤️"
