"It’s a student residence so very basic. Room was clean and there was a decent shared kitchen and living room with a TV. All very clean. Bathroom was small but it got the job done. The property was a bit beaten up but repairs were being done…likely the work had been deferred until the students moved out. Staff were efficient and friendly. "

"Amazing location! Shops, restaurants and attractions are within the block. Check in was easy and staff very friendly. I had a private room with shared bathroom and the room was a decent size and the bathroom was very clean. The shared kitchen was modern, clean, and had utensils, dishes, and cookware, as well as a fridge to store food. "

"Definitely exceeded our expectations. Although its is a cozy beaten up hostel, with shared bathroom/WC and kitchen, we felt like we were home. Meadows Park is nearby, we could walk pretty much everywhere. Reception/crew was not engaging much. Nonetheless, great value for money. "

"I enjoy every time I use youth hostels in Scotland. They are affordable with nice and modern decor. The Edinburgh Central Youth Hostel was just what we needed for a weekend break, just minutes away from the city center, restaurants and shops. Plenty of parking and this is free on weekends. Staff were very nice and excellent customer service. Would definitely come back."

"A great historical property which is not too far from the main roads. A converted church, so voices tend to carry. Great for solo travellers because you can get a room for one person. Bathrooms have all amenities, but could use a larger floor mat outside of shower, floors were a little slippery. Inside main quarters, beautiful stained glass and ceiling features. Front desk was very helpful. "

"Amazing! I only property conditions a 4/5 star because the lock on the door to the bathroom adjoining our room got stuck, its a bit loose. So i got trapped in there until someone on the otherside held the handle up so the lock aligned. There wasnt anybody at the desk to tell and im sure they would have fixed it. The girl i roomed with said she would tell them later. But staff were great, facilities were good, and the location is within walking distance of food, more car parks, the jail is...

"Brilliant idea letting out students rooms at the summer break, beautiful settings and loads of amenities locally. The “Scran”restaurant brilliant,tasty food and great staff and prices. There is a shop and a chemist on grounds. Scenery beautiful.rooms basic and comfortable.communal area for making lunch,tea etc My only criticism would be maybe too basic rooms,no hand towels or anywhere to put your shampoo etc in shower.
