Red Door Cottage: Ski, Hike, Bike, Shop, Eat!

Welcome to our charming 2bed, 1 bath cottage filled with nostalgic charm and modern comforts! Built in 1912 as part of a farmhouse, this home has been completely renovated and remolded, and a hint of history was kept inside offering authenticity and a sense of history. Centrally located to Bogus Basin, Hyde Park, Camelback Park, Hulls Gulch and downtown Boise, you can't find a better location to explore all of Boise's attractions.

From the moment you enter, you'll be greeted by the warmth of the hardwood floors and the inviting ambiance of the living space. The kitchen is the hub of the home with a new refrigerator. It is stylish and spacious and fully stocked with everything you need to cook, bake or grill. You'll find spices and oils and coffee and grill utensils. A quaint kitchen table for two is centered next to the window where sunlight shines in warming the space while drinking your morning coffee.

There are two bedrooms, one boasts a queen size bed and closet and the other one full bed and shelving space for clothing. There is a brand-new vanity in the bathroom, along with a tub/shower. You can pack light when traveling here. A blow dryer, shampoo, body soap and conditioner are all provided for you. And, with a stackable washer/dryer you can do your laundry at any time making it ideal for longer stays, you'll even find an iron and ironing board!

The living room provides a cozy spot to unwind after a day of exploration, with comfortable seating and tasteful decor creating a welcoming atmosphere. Curl up with a book, watch your favorite shows on the Smart TV, or simply enjoy the company of loved ones in this inviting space.

Outside, you'll find a quaint patio area where you can soak up the sunshine and enjoy the fresh air. Whether you're sipping your morning coffee, unwinding with a glass of wine in the evening, or grilling up the perfect meal, this outdoor space is completely private surrounded by a fully fenced in manicured lawn making it the perfect place to relax and recharge. Located outside the gate, is amply parking for easy access in and out of the cottage.

Historic Hyde Park is the heart of the historic North Side. Beautiful homes and cottages, shops, restaurants and a fantastic place to walk around and take in the atmosphere. First, the building and architecture of the areas is unique. Secondly, a “sub” urban retail area of the age of Hyde Park is unusual for any community. It rivals such famous areas like the Niles District in Oakland for its character and quality.

The Waymire Building on N. 13th spans the west side between Alturas and Eastman Streets. It is a series of shop bays and storefronts with a two story section at the north end of the development. The Waymire Building was completed in 1902 as was the Odd Fellows building across Eastman.

The two-story brick and stone Odd Fellows building is typical of lodge hall construction at the turn of the century. The commercial style structure housed shops on the ground floor and meeting rooms and hall above. Extensive restoration has been done to return this 1902 structure to its original appearance.

Built in 1912 I recall. Place was clean, kitchen was adequate for cooking, small square footage. Towels and linens were clean. Two things I noticed were that the floor was very cold even with socks on and heat turned up and that the furnace which is located in a closet in the living room was very loud making watching TV and talking difficult. Solid 4-4.5 star. Check in was easy and parking is in rear from alley.
