Area not safe very loudy and property in distressed conditions

Host manages several properties in Bogota on multiple sites. When I arrived at the building and checked in, I was given an inferior apartment that was not one I reserved online. When I brought this up the host, he said the mix up was due to an error on VRBO's part. Host admitted in text messages the apartment was not the one I reserved. Once into the apartment I discovered there was no cable or working Internet as well as no table, desk or any area from which to work. I contacted VRBO support via chat (approximately 9:00 PM local time) and they said they were unable to help me and I should call back in the morning. In the morning after missing several important video meetings for work, I checked into a hotel. Neither host or VRBO support were helpful in getting a refund and cited the cancellation policy which has nothing to do with it. I would never recommend renting any property with this host.

I enjoyed to be in the room. I didn’t realized it’s a lot young people crowding at night time outside at the area. Also, I noticed police have been at our apartment at all time really excellent. I want to say thanks to Colombia police to protect at the apartment. The security guards are very polite and respectful. Thank you for everything!
