"We were looking for a one-night stay in Charlottesville. It was hot so we basically filtered the search by location/having a pool. There was a nice looking bar and we had drinks by the pool. It was a bit of a walk to our building and our room was down a flight of stairs. They did offer to help with our bags. The parking is mandatory valet. Our building was like an old home with solid wood doors and old hardware. I hadn't used a real metal key in a hotel in quite a while but it was fine. It was quiet and there was a nice cafe/restaurant on the property. We only had coffee drinks and food to go but it was nice. The staff was very knowledable and friendly. I would recommend but be prepared that it's not your standard corporate chain, but that was nice for us."

"This was our first Holiday Inn Express stay of our trip and we enjoyed it so much we picked HIE locations every night they were available! I appreciated the consistency of the room layouts, the check in process and the breakfast was full of great options. My only negative is the pool hours. Parents of tween/teen travelers could use a few more hours to let their kids get a break from traveling by swimming before bed. "
