Upon arrival to the property we were greeted by the overflowing outside trash can dumpsters, the smell of the garbage was very strong as we typed in the code to enter. My 10yr old was excited for the bunk room and wanted to claim the top bunk. After she got up there and found all of the corners of the bunk full of candy wrappers and trash however she was grossed out and chose another bed. My 14 yr old chose the downstairs basement queen sized bedroom and reported finding crusty what appeared to be dried vomit on the comforter. As the kids explored the house they came and reported that male genitalia was drawn on the blackboard next to the pool table. Upon getting upstairs the dishwasher was clean but full, there was not really enough towels and they were distributed oddly and there was only 2 trash bags for the kitchen main trash (counting the one that was in it to begin with) for a weekend in a home meant to accommodate up to 14 people. Needless to say what could have been an enchanting weekend was subpar at best

We live in TX and our daughter, spouse, grandson and a few other family members live in NC, we decided to spend a long weekend together in Blowing Rock. This cabin is located very close to all the shops and restaurants in Blowing Rock and other attractions. It’s also not too far from Boone. The cabin is very clean and has all the amenities with plenty of beds to accommodate lots of people. I gave it 4 stars because the trash cans outside were already full the day of our arrival. The cleaning crew would have had to have known and should have taken care of it prior to our arrival. Contacted management found out trash pickup was actually prior day before our arrival but the cans were completely full and disgusting inside. After several calls with management they sent someone over to haul off a few of the bags of trash so we could fill it back up with our trash.
