"Grund is truly a gem. It's a beautiful and very comfortable house in a quiet and sparse "neighborhood". It was such a treat to watch the sun set over the Icelandic landscape from the sauna and watch the aurora right from the house (it's a fairly good viewing point with lots of open sky, dark enough though you could drive another 45 min away to be in a totally dark zone). Thorsteinn is a very responsive host and we were in touch during the whole stay. I will be recommending Grund to my friends...

"We stayed here for 4 nights in July, two adults and two children (8 and 10). The cottage is located a 30-45 min drive from a lot of cool sites, and 20 mins from Selfoss with shops and cafés. The cottage itself is really nice, clean and well kept, with a very nice hot tub! Would recommend sleeping with the windows closed in the summer though, to keep the gnats/mosquitos out. We learned the hard way the first night 😅"

"Our stay at Austery Lakefront was everything we could hope for and then some. The pictures don’t do the house or the property justice. Everything we needed, including coffee and coffee making choices, was provided. And the serenity is unrivalled. Sitting in the hot tub after a hike in Laugarvatn, looking out over the lake with the northern lights above us. How can you match that! And our hosts were accommodating in every way we could hope for. "

"Our stay at the Lake Palace was wonderful. The home is beautifully situated, spacious, and well equipped. The host was very accommodating and provided a crib and high chair for us to use for our little one. Soaking in the hot tub with a view of the mountains was an incredible way to unwind after a day of hiking. We highly recommend staying here!"

"Our family absolutely loved the Hekla Hilltop cabin. The hot tub, the record player, the "cave", and the location! Short drive to the Geyser and Gullfoss. The owners were great in all communications and made our trip very easy. This is especially helpfull in your first night in a new country. Highly recommneded!!!!!!!"

"Das Haus ist wirklich sehr schön: geschmackvoll, komfortabel und mit herrlichem Blick auf den See, den wir jeden Tag aufs Neue genossen haben. Mitten im Golden Circle gelegen, kann man von hier aus viel erkunden. Der Vermieter ist sehr freundlich, sympathisch und hilfsbereit. Es war eine tolle Zeit, wir haben uns rundherum sehr wohl gefühlt! Wir kommen bestimmt wieder."

"Lovely vacation home with tons of amenities and beautiful views. The kitchen was topnotch and well stocked--tons of pots, plates and glasses. The hosts had even provided salt, pepper, sugar and coffee which was much appreciated. The bath towels were very new and very soft. Ample closet space throughout the home. There were even lots of board games for the kids. "

"I like in the countryside and unique lodge experience, being Cosy and hot-tub. The small inconvenience is the beds are rather small. My son's legs overhang the single beds. Also the steps was a bit too steep when visiting downstairs toilet middle of the night. Overall I loved it."

"This cabin is a wonderful property. It is very private and feels like a home. We split time between relaxing at the cabin and touring the area. When spending time at the cabin, we didn’t feel as if we were missing anything as we would have if we were in a hotel room. The view from the cabin is beautiful, and the hot tub and sauna are great additions. An added benefit is that the beds are very comfortable. "Very cute and rural. 20 mins from Selfoss but little light pollution in the area. We saw the northern lights from the hot tub! but they were easier to see when we took a drive. Very convenient to a lot of golden circle stops and great that it had a restaurant because there aren't many super close. Did not have ice or free coffee and there was no breakfast available. Kitchen was nice to have for sure. There was no oil or anything though. Hot tubs and shower were very hot! Cabin was also cozy. You...
