The Imperial Hotel

"Lovely old hotel in a great location with a Sean view out the front and tram stop virtually on the doorstep. We only stayed b+b but the food we had was really nice. A bit chaotic at breakfast time but it is a large hotel and they do warn you about peak times so you're you know what to expect in advance. The room was comfortable. Nice clean beds and bathroom but there were 2 items of rubbish on the floor (a sweet wrapper and a golden egg from the arcade) which were there for the duration of the stay. However, the staff were lovely, very polite and helpful if needed (we didn't need them but saw other guests that did and they were great with them). I think my only slight criticism would be that you were left waiting at the bar alot. They could see you standing there but carried on cleaning or filling fridges. Don't get me wrong, as someone who has worked in a few bars, I know these things need to be done but if you have people waiting, you either serve them or at least acknowledge them and let them know you will be with them ASAP which they didn't do. Oh and for information, there is parking at the hotel but it is £14 a day and you have to register on the machine at reception and fill in the paperwork too. Anyway, overall, I've left what I think is my honest review. It's a good hotel in a great location and yes, I would absolutely stay here again."

"Hotel was ok, you got what you paid for. Disappointed you had to pay for the pool and the car parking. You pay enough for the holiday itself without having to pay for extras. Also had to pay separate for breakfast, but it did set you up for the day. Staff were very helpful in getting you what you wanted and we're always polite."

"Very courteous and helpful staff. Excellent bar and dining areas. Clean and tidy throughout. My room wasn't cleaned on one day but not a major problem and easy to get the tea bags replenished from reception. Although I was aware when I made my booking, it was bit annoying having to leave a £150 tab on my credit card at check in, especially as I was paying for 3 rooms, so £450.00!!! a bit unnerving, but no charge was ultimately taken as fortunately my friends behave themselves. I assume that the hotel has experienced problems with troublesome guests in the past. Would definitely stay again."
