"I can't say enough for what a great time we had at Kakao Lodge. I was skeptical at first since I usually like staying in my chain hotels that provide all the normal American comforts. But after staying here, my mind has totally changed. You can't describe how awesome it is to be able to see a half dozen different species of exotic frogs at night, or a sloth while eating breakfast, or tropic birds singing to you in the morning. And don't forget about breakfast. Everyday, we had homemade to order breakfast. Finally, if you're a gym rat like me, there's a gym that's $5/day to drop in that's a 3 minute walk from Kakao Lodge. We were also fortunate enough to be there while the owner, Laura, was there. Her and her husband are delightful people if you're lucky enough to get to meet them as well. If you want to experience the rainforest of Costa Rica while still having a comfy bed to go back to at night, I can't say enough for staying here. "

"This hotel was definitely 5 star. Dinner was good. Breakfast was ok. Bed was a little hard but room was beautiful with floor to ceiling windows with a view of the jungle. We only stayed one night didn’t see any monkeys but heard howler monkeys yelling. Hot springs were amazing! Except it could use some lighting down there for night time they are open until 8 but it gets dark at 6. Staff was top notch!!! "

"We just stayed at La Mansion Inn for the beginning of our trip in Costa Rica and it set a high bar for the rest of the trip! The rooms were cozy and comfortable, good AC, comfortable beds and private porches that overlooked magical views. The restaurant offered a great breakfast that is included but other items available to a low cost and the food was phenomenal. The staff there were the kindest, most attentive, and friendly people that were not only patient with our lack of Spanish but helped us with the language when we showed interest. It is a little bit of a drive to La Fortuna (~20 min.) but is very close to the Mistico Hanging bridges and having to drive a little was 100% worth every trying this facility offers. I will recommend this place to everyone I know and definitely return!"

"Accueil extra, endroit très tranquille, immense domaine marchable, aménagement paysager superbe. Faune et flore sur la site intéressants. Communication facile en tout temps, possibilité de commander facilement dans les restau du coin avec livraison à la porte. Stationnement à la porte. Patio avec petit frigo, mais sans possibilité de faire cuire ou chauffer de la nourriture. "
