"We had a great time at the house. The house all the essentials (maybe except shampoo / conditioner, but there's plenty of hand soap). Rooms are nice and cozy, linen is soft. Plenty of storage, and you don't even need to bring much as washer and dryer are right there (just bring the detergent).We cooked most of our meals, both at the kitchen and on the grill, very convenient.Private pool is such a luxury, both adults and kids had a great time there.The house is literally steps from the beach (close enough to go home from the beach to use the bathroom and come right back). You have to cross a road, but it's a slow road, mostly with golf carts bring people to and from the beach. This road also has a bike lane, which is amazing for biking, running, etc. There's a bike rental closer to the bridge.We were at the house first week of August, and got some rains, which was nice to cool down a little. Even without the rain, we had quite a few very warm and cloudy days, which was perfect for the beach - warm enough to stay in a wet swimsuit, and playing freely in the sand without hiding under a tent from the sun. Most of the days it was quite windy, and the waves were high - nice for splashing, but not really for a long calm swimming (like you would get in Tampa).The house is closer to the further end of the island, which is mostly residential, so you won't walk to a cafe or ice cream. There's plenty of cafe's closer to the bridge and right after the bridge. Highly recommend!"

"Our family has stayed at a lot of beach houses in North Carolina over the past 30 years. If you are accustomed to that, you know what your expectations should be. These houses are usually well loved - and it shows in the many small deficits throughout. With that said, this is how I would rate our experience:Overall, I would give it an 8/10. Pros:- The views of the ocean from the house and deck are unbeatable. We have never been that close to the ocean walking distance, either. - The pool was a wonderful perk for the young kids of our group- 6bed/6ba was a luxury for us when we are more used to 4-5bed/ba, and the breakdown of bed type was very functional for us- The price given all of these factors was quite impressive- The property management company was very responsive to even minor concernsCons: - This house was INCREDIBLY worn down. I would put this in the 6/10 category. It was cleaned prior to arrival, but frankly the house deserves multiple rounds of deep cleans if not minor to major renovations. Often we just felt dirty, even after showering.I would say we had a good to great experience depending on various aspects."

"Their dock was amazing and a great place to rest and relax. Hosts were very quiet and responsive. Highly recommend. There is a lot of stairs so I wouldn’t go if you have any knee issues other than that all good."

"West of Eden was a great place for our growing family! Change is hard and finding the right place to stay for a week can be challenging...but Colton and his family made it so easy! The house was perfect. Even though it is a duplex, you never have that feeling. It was extremely clean. Beds are comfy and the family room was cozy! The big family table was perfect for family meals and game time. Thank you Colton! See you next year!"
