apartment infested by bed bugs (punaises de lit, Bettwanzen)
Due to the Corona crisis we had to postpone our planned visit in April 2020. First the owner did not want to hear about refunding or giving us a chance to rebook for a later date. Only when FEWO decided to give the money back to people, which booked during this period of time, the owner allowed us to rebook for July. When we arrived at the apartment, we realized, that there was no air conditioning in cotradiction to the advertisment. Summers in Beziers are very hot. So we had to sleep with open windows and a lot of street noise. But the worst happened during the night. In the morning we were eaten up by bed bugs. The owner did at first not care at all and then told us, that the beds cannot not be used until well after our stay ended. Not a friendly word, not offering us an alternative location to stay or God forbid to give us the money back. We just had to move out as the local pharmacist told us to do so without any delay for our health sake. We left the apartment with the profound impression, that the owner (he is renting out four apartments in Beziers) is behaving irresponsibly and it seems to be obvious to us, that he does not care at all about the well being of his guests.
