Great location, but needs much better cleaning
Let's start with the positives: Bethany Beach is a great place. Sea Colony is even better. It is such a safe, beautiful and spacious neighborhood. I recommand it to all. And we had just the best weather.
The unit we were in however, needs a little love. A lot of things were broken. The fridge has no door handle, the chairs on the patio are mostly broken and the paint needs major refreshing, just to name a few.
But my main issue, was the cleanliness (or lack thereof) of the place. The kitchen floor was filthy. There were two ant traps on the floor. Both were broken and had leaked. So the floor was covered in sticky ant poison, with dead ants and bits of food in it. The bathroom (particularly the shower) had not been thoroughly cleaned since the last occupants. I am usually not a difficult person. I always try to give the highest mark, but I must say the cleaning was a problem. Vacasa offered an appology, but nothing else.
Invest a little in the unit and clean it properly and this 3 easily turns into a 5. As I said earlier, Sea Colony is just a great place. There are pools everywhere!
One last thing: Try to arrive within the opening hours of the main office. Checking in outside the hours was a bit tricky.
