We absolutely loved our yurt experience. It was super clean and there was such a fine attention to detail. The hosts were approachable and willing to help with anything. I would highly recommend this place!!!
Our family of 5 loved staying at our Yurt while we explored Acadia. There was plenty of space for us to feel at home and the accommodations were better than expected. We loved having access to Bar Harbor and Acadia while having a comfortable home base for the family. The 30min drive to Bar Harbor was beautiful and we were happy to have a quiet, spacious "home" where we could sit around the fire, or watch Netflix at the end of a busy day. Hosts were communicative and friendly and we loved our stay!
This was the most amazing experience. We had so much fun. The yurt was even more beautiful than the photos and we will definitely be back! Can’t recommend this yurt enough.
We booked this as the tail end of a fall trip starting in Boston and ending in Maine near Acadia and this was the gem of the entire vacation. The experience felt like high end glamping for the adults and my daughter loved the loft and the tub and the chickens and outdoor games. 100 percent would recommend and come back again.
The photos and descriptions don't do this property justice - each yurt is an upscale facility in a rustic setting. It's a great location on the quiet side of the island. The owners have a keen eye for detail and decor, in addition to all the amenities you wish you had at home; extra-nice surprises were the Roku TV and soaking tub. Check-in was a breeze and Becky and family were super helpful throughout our stay. I will definitely be coming back!
Me and my family of three small children and my husband stayed here for our summer vacation! It was the perfect way to start the summer. It was close enough to Bar Harbor and all of the fun but nice to be a little set away! We are at Thurstons almost every night because it was SO good! The property is very clean and nice. The kids had the best time playing and enjoying. Their favorite part was checking on the chickens and eggs every morning. We are so appreciative for the helpful wonderful hosts. :)
We absolutely loved our stay in Acadia Wilderness Lodge located in Tremont. The surroundings were beautiful, our Yurt was large and beautifully decorated with every amenity we needed. Every night there was a group fire to sit around and chat which helped decompress at the end of the day. This location was perfect for us to visit everything we wanted to see on our list with easy access in and out. I want to thank Kenya for her excellent communication in providing us with all the details from the moment we booked until we departed. This made our stay stress free. We would come again with our extended family and have already recommended it to our friends. Thank you, Valerie.
The yurt we stayed in was beautifully decorated with a relaxing atmosphere. From the soaking tub lavender salt, to the neck massager, to the sleep eye masks, this yurt was made to relax after a long day of hiking. It comfortably accommodated our family of two adults and two kids. The kids had fun playing the yard games and making smores around the fire pit.
Considering this is a yurt, I was expecting noise to bleed through from other people or the mentioned resident chickens, but we didn't have any noise issues. Please note that the grill top and microwave are located outside of the yurt in it's own private back area, like 10 steps away from the door.
We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place!
A beautiful location.
The yurt was great. Plenty of kitchen supplies for 4 people. (Microwave is outside in the additional seating area). 2 rooms were comfortable. There are no ceilings so there isn’t bedroom sound privacy. The bathroom was beautiful and the bathroom amenities (shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion, etc) were appreciated.
Easy to use washer/dryer.
It was damp while we were there so we didn’t have a fire, but we did enjoy the communal gas fire in the center of the property.
There is a rooster next door that may help you wake up in the morning and get ready for your next hike.
Very responsive hosts. Really appreciated there were no complicated check out instructions.
The yurt and small village is adorable. Looks to be brand new and extremely clean. The yurt had two bedrooms which provided some privacy but noise privacy does not exist. The walls of the bedrooms don’t reach the top and therefore if anyone is watching tv in the living room, everyone can hear it as if they are watching it themselves. They do provide ear plugs but I couldn’t wear them to sleep otherwise I wouldn’t have heard my alarm in the morning.
The village has a big fire pit which is really nice to sit around in the evenings. There is a game area with torches around it at night.
You can collect eggs from their chicken coop if you wish to cook. There is a rooster not on property that will be an early morning wake up call. (Another reason for ear plugs). There is a resident cat who is super friendly and loves attention.
Except for yurt #8, you have to park in a parking lot and lug your luggage to your yurt. We were in yurt #1 and had quite a walk trying to pull heavy suitcases through rock paths.
We were given a code to the yurt door which made it easy to get in. We arrived around 6pm and no one was there to greet us. We didn’t see or meet anyone working there the three nights we stayed which was a bit weird. I will say we were gone most of the time so we might have just missed them.
Location is in the middle of nowhere. You have to drive to Southwest Harbor, Northeast Harbor or Bar Harbor for supplies and meals.
loved everything about this vacation spot. thoughtful hosts, beautiful yurts, crazy clean. they thought of everything, honestly. such a wonderful trip. A++
they know how to spoil people
For our girls trip, we decided to stay in a yurt at the Acadia Wilderness Lodge and it did not disappoint!! The property and amenities were exactly as listed, and the pictures don’t do it justice-it really is such a fun, comfortable, and unique experience! The yurt was very clean and came with everything we needed, and we really enjoyed having our own outdoor space to relax in as well. The location was perfect for the time we wanted to spend at Acadia National Park, and the drive to and from Bar Harbor was beautiful. We would definitely recommend staying here, and would love to come back someday!
We had a wonderful time staying at Acadia Wilderness Lodge. The yurt was furnished with everything we could have possibly needed. My husband and I enjoyed the spacious rooms and our kids loved the loft. The yard games kept us entertained. When it got cold outside our yurt was nice and toasty. Overall we had a wonderful stay and would go back.
It was nice to visit Bar Hsrbor but not stay there. We prefer this quieter place to rest at night. There are also a couple of fabulous restaurants over here also.
Everything at the yurt was better than represented. Location was a good balance between remote and handy to town/ Acadia/ Bar Harbour. If youre on the fence about staying in a yurt, dont be. Property owners are available for questions and close by. Property owners thought of everything. Nothing was lacking. I say, book it!
Had a wonderful relaxing time . This property was perfect and they have thought of everything. We were on anniversary trip but bringing the kids next time !!
This campground was very quiet and relaxing. The O were very responsive when I had to contact them about the grill with our Yurt. It was so nice every evening to come back to the campground and be away from the crowds. The yurt was very clean and comfortable.
Beyond my expectations this yurt was first class and accommodations were beautiful. My daughter and I especially loved the community fire to connect with other travelers and private gazebo. Spectacular and will definitely be back.
This is such a great property. The yurts are gorgeous and well-appointed. You don’t even realize you’re staying in a tent like structure. Plenty of room for everyone. And the cornhole and other games are perfect for evenings. I didn’t want to leave!
The only downside was the neighbor rooster who made it challenging to sleep in. But we got used to him after one morning.
My daughter and I spent the week at Acadia Wilderness Lodge. It was wonderful! Staying in a yurt was just a fun experience but add to that how spa like the decor and surroundings were and it was a huge hit! Loved the outdoor spaces and spend lots of time by the fire pit. Drive over to Acadia for hikes most days and Bar Harbor for nicer restaurants and shopping. Those were all easily accessible and it was nice to be not In the middle of the crowds!!!
