Kreuz Bern Modern City Hotel

"Exceptional across the board with one small caveat. Excellent location, spotlessly clean, reasonably priced, safe neighborhood, and very helpful staff. My room was small but exactly what I needed: a comfortable bed, spotless bathroom, plenty of hot water, and adequate air conditioning. The breakfast buffet was outstanding and included in the price. I also loved the rooftop seating area for sunsets and people-watching. Other nice touches: washer/dryer (7 CHF), restaurant next door, small fitness room, 24-hour self-service coffee, elevators, and in-room safes. My only complaint was check-in. I arrived around 1:20 p.m. after roughly 16 hours of travel and was firmly told I could not have my room until the 3:00 p.m. check-in time. I waited in the lobby for about an hour before asking a different front desk employee, who immediately said, “Of course, your room is ready,” and checked me in. I completely understand guaranteeing rooms by 3:00 p.m., but if a room is already cleaned and available, allowing an exhausted traveler to check in early is simply good hospitality. That first interaction left me wondering what kind of experience I was in for. Thankfully, that concern disappeared quickly. Every staff member I dealt with afterward was outstanding, and the rest of my stay was excellent. I would happily stay here again."

"The property was very nice. It had a wonderful location.. The property was very clean and the staff was very helpful with suggestions of things to see and restaurants.. The room was clean and more than adequate size with a bathtub. I would say the breakfast was good, but maybe not as good as other places we’ve been to in Italy and Germany and Switzerland and Austria.. I would recommend this Hotel as a frequent traveler"

"Super friendly and helpful staff upon arrival. It's a small hotel in reception, but the rooms are a good size. The airconditioning was great. Room and bathroom very clean. Our view wasn't good, but that didn't really matter. Location was fantastic - near to the train station. A wonderful stay and I'd definitely go back."

"Charming apartment with 2 rooms amd a washroom. Yummy breakfast included and fresh squeezed orange juice. No a/c but oscillating fans helped. Great location."

"Our favorite hotel on a three week vacation. Perfect location to see historic sites, shopping, restaurants, and strolling by the river. Easy access to building and room. Friendly staff and gathering room was fully stocked. Would stay here again and recommending to friends traveling to Bern!"

"Nice modern hotel in a good location next to the Rosengarten. Great view from the rooftop bar over the old town and to the mountains. Friendly helpful staff. Car parking below. Nice size room with good bathroom. The bed was a little too hard for us but otherwise no complaints. Would definitely recommend."

"Great location, close to the Wankdorf station. Room as described, really clever use of the sliding wall to create the space where you need it at that time. Great to have coffee machine and easy access to refills from the main area. Nice to be able to cook our own food. Little supermarkets close by, used the Migrolino on the Sunday when Coop was closed. Would recommend, we had a great stay."
