There were many toiletries available for the forgetful. The bed was very comfortable and there were lights and plugs everywhere I needed them to be. The staff was friendly and helpful. "I hate Wyndham but we’ve stayed at this Howard Johnson twice and it’s decent. It’s clean and remodeled and has been quiet both times. Parking is very cramped and a little limited, but fine. Nice staff. Rooms and bathrooms are small but fine. Appreciate the fridge and microwave. Overall a decent place to stay for something relatively affordable. "

"Great location, friendly staff, and very comfy beds. The California St trolley is right around the corner, and Fisherman's Wharf only a 10 minute drive away. Parking is expensive at $40 per night, and the $30 breakfast buffet is overpriced and really underwhelming. The pancakes were hard as a rock, and there are no soft drinks available. We felt ripped off after eating there. Go around the corner to Grubstake Diner for a real breakfast at a fraction of the cost. Other than the (very) overpriced restaurant, this is a great hotel. We would definitely stay again."
