"No one in reception on our arrival (2pm). When shown to our room nothing was explained, ie, where and when to get breakfast, as I happens it was in the next hotel song. The pool shower was also in that hotel. In our room the a/c had only 2 positions, on and off, therefore at night either to hot or in a cold draft. And the shower drain was blocked!! "

Friendly, courteous staff who couldn't do enough for us, a superb room with a balcony offering a beautiful beach view. "Beautiful Geoffrey Bowa- designed boutique hotel set in a beautifully tended garden. This is our second stay & it didnt disappoint. The staff remembered us after 4 years! Very good service, excellent breakfasts & evening meal. There is a train line running along the bottom of the garden and the train clanks along it every hour or so. We loved the quirkiness of it. Its a gorgeous, peaceful sanctuary. Beautiful beach is just over the railway line. There are bars along the beach to the left for a lunchtime wander & food, and also great places to eat along the beach to the right in Bentota (or short tuk-tuk ride). I would happily come back here anytime!"
