Every year, hundreds of Great Egrets congregate in this large tree on the Bel Marin Keys public access trail. For weeks I was captured by the beauty of their flight and their incredible hunting techniques. I crouched on the rocks opposite this Great Egret for half an hour, trying to get this action shot. Well worth it if I do say so myself, I hope you all agree

"A Truly Magical Stay – Unforgettable Service & Thoughtful Luxury From the moment we arrived at Stanly Ranch, the staff made us feel not just welcomed, but genuinely celebrated. They remembered our names and went above and beyond to honor my husband’s birthday and our anniversary with warm, personal touches throughout our stay. Every interaction with the team was a highlight. Avida at Bear Bar treated us like royalty—even when the kitchen had closed, she made a special exception to bring us oysters, and we were just sitting at the bar! That level of service was consistent across the board. Every staff member remembered details about us with such care and intention—it felt like staying with friends who just happen to run a world-class resort. Our room? Absolutely stunning. From the heated bathroom tiles to the dreamy outdoor shower and the fresh veggies grown onsite as a welcome gift (truly the best carrot and kumquat we’ve ever had), every detail was thoughtfully curated.
