Rooms are very clean staff is very good yet the hotel is quite old the elevator is tight
Lights go off at the lobby area at night which feels weird for me
I will never book again via Expedia. Expedia charged for a room without breakfast while the normal rate which Expedia charged me is the same as Bed and breakfast.
The property is tip top. It has always been. I used to stay at Sofitel La Gabriel whenever I visit Beirut. I stopped travelling to Beirut after the explosion at the Sea Port in 2019. I started travelling again this year (3 times) and staying always at La Gabriel. .
This last stay at Gabriel was through Expedia. The hotel La Gabriel informed me that Expedia booked me a room without breakfast. I never do such and the price Expedia collected from me was supposed to be bed plus breakfast. I paid the hotel $ 54 for two breakfasts that Expedia did not include in my reservation. I will never book again via Expedia.
I love this hotel. This is where I stay in Beirut as it is perfectly located in a safe and extremely walkable area. I love the staff here, so kind and attentive, you will love this hotel
We had a very nice stay in Beirut. The hotel is close to Sassine Square and is very close the ABC, St. Nicolas Cathedral, Gemmayze, Sursock etc. It is also in a very safe area and is also close to downtown. I would definitely stay here again plus the staff are just so very nice and accommodating...typical Lebanese hospitality at its finest!
I liked the way the staff showed their help and support, their welcoming style. The hotel is clean, cosy and very quote. Breakfast is good and the outdoor place is very quite and nice. I loved it.
A remarkably cosy and homey hotel to stay in Beirut. A great location where you can walk pretty much everywhere in Achrafieh and the staff are always there to assist. The only letdown is that rooms could have a have better noise insulation. And parking is out on the street. Apart from that, a superb hotel in the heart of the captivating Beirut.
A facility that does not balance price and benefit. I had one of my worst experiences. I called to ask how to reach the hotel. They said they would meet me at the airport. But they did not say that transportation to the hotel would be paid and would cost 40 dollars. At the last exit, they surprised me and asked for money. It's ridiculous to ask 40 dollars for a 15 dollar distance. I gave 15 dollars. I give 0 to the professionalism of the facility.
This is the widest hotel ever that I stayed in entire my life. 1st of all. Their beds are not conformable even I changed the room all the beds are not comfortable. Their pillows are not conformable. The phones in all the rooms are broken. The bath rooms are broken and too old. Shower Faucet was broken. Toilet Faucet was broken. No Room services. Ect. For the amount that I paid and too expensive I blamed myself. Also their elevator is too small and too slow and too old.
